EL & Shelby in the non conf slate? That’s some bold scheduling, especially knowing we were headed back up to 3A ball. How long have we pleaded for a more ‘beefed-up’ non conf schedule? LOL certainly got what we wanted … and then some! should be fun, looking forward to it.

I’ve been carrying the torch since 2001. No more East Burke, Ashe County, West Iredell, Wilkes Central, Whatever the Q Foundation is, etc.
They’ll make some tweaks here and there over the years: Butler, Mooresville, Davie County, Tuscola. I really enjoyed those. Good football test against programs with some tradition that our outside the unifour.
We got a real good test against Newton-Conover during the 2017 title run. Can’t tell you how valuable a game like that was. We split a scheduled home-and-home with Maiden a few years back. More of that, please. When scheduling local area teams, look to Catawba County instead of Ashe County and East Burke.
