As someone pointed out, this should be it’s own category:

Movie was disappointing for someone who watched the original on VHS about a million times, but holy hell the soundtrack was perfection.

and yes, I am a huge nerd.

The answer is the soundtrack from Saturday Night Fever and it’s not even close. 16 times platinum. Up until Thriller by Michael Jackson is was the highest selling album period not just sound tracks. In the day you couldn’t listen to the radio for ten minutes without hearing a song from it.

Are we talking “score” or “soundtrack”?

Score, I gotta go Star Wars. I’m not sure there’s another movie score where you have multiple musical pieces that are so transcendent that even people who have never watched the movies know exactly what they are.

For soundtrack, it is really hard to beat the three Guardians of the Galaxy soundtracks.

You’re not wrong but I still hate that damn soundtrack. That was a long year listening to the radio.

Used to play the video game after school at the country corner store in Lee County.

In store, I usually drift to guardians of the galaxy soundtrack, which covers all the movies. There's only one song that forces me to rage skip.

By what's been posted in this thread, i will expand. I will skip Saturday night fever though.
