The 12th man @ Riverheads
Like , the crowd? I doubt you are that loud xcross. I always imagined you as one of the smokers hanging around the top of the hill likely boasting about "the good ole' days".

Solid fanbase at RHS that shows it's value on the road (they travel very well)

Kickers don't always get much respect but Peyton Skillman from Riverheads was sensational last year. The Gladiators apparently recruit kickers from the soccer team and they have found some great ones the last few years. He was only a sophomore, which is why I figured he did not even get first-team all-district, which went to the R E Lee senior as I recall. So this year, I would like to see him get a little more recognition, although I guess an all-state honor would be too much to hope for.

I always like to see a good kicker. Seems more teams are going that route now recruiting the best soccer players to come out and kick. Northumberland and Middlesex both did that last year and both kickers made it from 40 plus.

Lee's kicker, Marcos Sasia, was a Jr in 2017, so he will still be around this season. He is a big part of their loaded soccer team.

Sussex Central has 3 players that will be on the radar and should have Sussex in the title hunt next year. They are Malik Langford , Imir Clark , and the Rose kid.

Is the Rose kid any relation to the former Tiger, Aljamont(sp)? He was an absolute BEAST!

Northumberland kicker Harry Lee is ranked 13th in the nation for the class of 2020. https://www.prokicker.com/rankings/junior

That is very cool. Last year, Harry as a 10th grader (could have still been on JV) was All District and All Region in both Football and Soccer.

- Indian Football, Harry broke the school record on his 1st attempt with a 43 yard field goal.

- Indian Soccer, Harry was the leader of a revitalized defensive unit that had 8 shutouts last season, second most in the entire state (Galax, the 3 time state champions in last 4 years, had like 9 shutouts).

Harry gives NHS another weapon - with kickoffs and punting as well for the field position battle - I hope that NHS practices special teams constantly - need better line protection and timing from last few seasons to be successful in continuity.

That raises a good question. What is everyone's situation like with regards to JV. Here in the Valley, it is very seldom you see 10th graders on JV team. I remember a handful of years ago that SD played Broadway in JV and speaking with coaches after was told that they had to discuss with other team if they had 10th graders on team. I think those were really just special circumstances or ones that didnt even have a chance of seeing field on Varsity.

It may have changed a bit since then, but is that just this area sort of thing, or others as well. It would seem that may help the Varsity numbers a bit, especially with the lower classes
