My takeaway from this game is that we can run the ball against anyone! this will give us a chance. We should be able to run against Iowa, Penn State, and Maryland. we have a very good chance of winning one more but possibly 2 or 3 more . Has been and should continue to be a great season!

My overall take was that RU is a pretty damn good football team. This, by far, was our biggest test and we almost figured out a way to win. Obviously, need to be better in the red zone and actually get a TD not a FG.
GW needs to get better at having some touch with his passes. Blew a TD to a wide open receiver.
I think we met the threshold of being competitive.
Now win some more games.

For me, best was the play of the OL. Opened plays for KM, and GW had time on a lot of his dropbacks. Worst, play calling in the red zone. Should have ridden KM more.
Agreed, O line has been great this year.

Clearly Iowa and Maryland are winnable games; that's what I take away from this game. Maybe even PSU too. We had our opportunities today but just didn't execute.
I'd start making a goal-line package for Simon. Just in case. If he can put teh ball to a spot much more often than Wimsatt then, why not use him there for those timing patters to the corners? Make it a competition in practice.. see who hits it more often.

Why not Langan?

The OL, most of the Defense, and Kyle M. TEs blocked well too.

Why not Langan?
He had his shot... though I did think a gadget play to someone who could throw and send Wimsatt out as a receiver might be interesting. I thiguht direct snap to Monangai would assume wildcat run and if he could throw it.. Wimsatt might be open in the flat in a short yardage situation. Perhaps a wrinkle to Langan would be possible.

But you play with that vs cupcakes to prove it... no cupcakes left.. then again.. that "caterpillar".. that's what some studio guys called it... we didn't do that in a game before.

NW has 29 yards in the first half against Iowa. 0-0 at the half. Iowa just finally scored in 3rd quarter.

You are right, Iowa has an amazing defense and is hard to run against but I think we put over 100 yards, which will be hard to do on Iowa. But the most important part is to avoid INT and let Iowa be the one making mistakes. Basically, do what Minnesota did to Iowa. We have to be super patient in this game because Iowa offense sucks but their defense can put points...

Can't wait for this game. our OL looks good and our running game looks amazing due mostly to number 5, who after the Ohio State game will likely go on the 2nd or 3rd round and made himself a lot of $$$$. Super happy for him but is going to suck when he leaves... the same for 16 and 7.

Hate to rain on your parade, but RBs aren't as highly valued. #5's blocking got him past UDFA. Today might have moved him up to 4th or 5th. Of course, with the B1G voters he'll e lucky if he gets HM All Big 10.

I'm sure one of us is right. My bigger point is that he is doing amazing for us this year. the next few weeks should be super exciting.

ESPN summed it up pretty well in their “recap”

“Rutgers: The Scarlet Knights have closed the gap on the Buckeyes big-time. Greg Schiano's team proved it can play with anyone in the league.”

Amen - it was like coaches said "lets go away from what we are doing best all day and really fool them."
