Between Payne, Davis, or Kirby...does one stand out?

I'd promote Cunningham from within before wanting Mike Davis to take the helm.<div>
</div><div>But between those three it is a close run between Payne and Kirby. I actually lean a little towards Kirby. He is a good recruiter and has had exposure to a good system there in Georgetown. He knows MS better than anyone else we've interviewed or talked about. And is actually a top assistant instead of the #3 or #2 that Payne is to Cal.</div><div>
</div><div>As for Davis, heck, I'd rather put Bart Gregory or Taylor Luczak as our head coach.</div>

I can't believe we are having to think about these options. But I am going to have a hard time pulling for Mike Davis, so I will say Payne.

I'd love to see Coach Davis fill his staff with Kirby and Payne. Keep Cunningham around for kicks. That would be an all star coaching staff.

Didn't mean that any one factor of Kirby's outweighed each of Payne's. But saying that Kirby wasn't w/o involvement in a good system.<div>
</div><div>Kirby vs Payne would be a close race. But some have said that Kirby is indeed supposed to interview this weekend w/ Strick.</div>

Davis isn't even a candidate, because strick knows he could never sell a hire like that to the fanbase. Just wouldn't happen.

To me, there's not a dime's bit of difference between kirby and payne. Throw the names in a hat and pick one.

Sharon Fanning-Otis than Mike Davis. Seriously who started this ******** with Davis? It's 17ing retarded. No way Stricklin would EVER consider a guy that just got fired from UAB.

Where is the 'none of the above' option? Or did you leave that one out since it'd be the runaway winner?

which gives teams fits. The same Princeton offense that beat Kentucky in the SEC championship game, as Vanderbilt runs it.

None of these three are even in most people's "Tier B" as far as initial prospects. But I see more people taking about these three right now than others. <div>
</div><div>But come next week it might be someone never mentioned at all.</div>

And it's not Kenny Payne.

Davis made it the the Final Four was the first season after Knight was fired. That IU team beat 12seed Utah, 13seed UNC Wilmington, a 1 point win over 1seed Duke, and then 10seed Kent State. Mike Davis was incredibly lucky in that tournament. IU was so ecstatic they signed him a month later through the year 2008. They FIRED him in 2006. That's HOW BAD Indiana became right after his fluke Final Four. Mike Davis sucks.

I'm not gonna quit being a basketball fan if it isn't a so called "home run" hire. Those don't always workout themselves. I like Payne, and I don't give a **** if he's a 3rd assistant at Kentucky. The guy can supposedly recruit and instill discipline in his players. I wouldn't mind Kirby either, but unless you just wanna quit keeping up with basketball, you're gonna have to give the new coach a chance no matter who it is. My best advice would be to expect the worst and hope for the best.
