Print that **** in the media guide, put banners in the stadium, and have Boyd Nation work up a gotdamn index that massages the numbers to put us on top those years (shouldn't be hard since it's half-way legit). Perception is reality. In 5 years no one will question it anymore than they do Bama's additional 5+ or OM's additional 2. Well, no one but Bama and OM fans. But, who gives a **** about that?

is quoted as saying about our 1940 team that beat Georgetown in the 1941 Orange Bowl, "Mississippi State reigns as undisputed king of football in the Deep South. State's 13-0 trouncing of Alabama and subsequent acceptance of an Orange Bowl bid eliminated any doubt that the Maroons were gridiron kings of these parts."

IMO, claims of a national championship have been laid on far less than that.</p>
