Good stuff. Make sure to click on the rings at the bottom, especially 1941:

....because the loss to MSU was in the rain, the loss to Vandy was close and because Bama played good down the stretch. By similar logic, Ole Miss should claim a 2008 national championship.

And BAM - national championship. Oh, we need to make up a ranking system that awards it to us but that should not be hard to do. While we're at it, can we get Auburn the 2004 one?

Print that **** in the media guide, put banners in the stadium, and have Boyd Nation work up a gotdamn index that massages the numbers to put us on top those years (shouldn't be hard since it's half-way legit). Perception is reality. In 5 years no one will question it anymore than they do Bama's additional 5+ or OM's additional 2. Well, no one but Bama and OM fans. But, who gives a **** about that?

is quoted as saying about our 1940 team that beat Georgetown in the 1941 Orange Bowl, "Mississippi State reigns as undisputed king of football in the Deep South. State's 13-0 trouncing of Alabama and subsequent acceptance of an Orange Bowl bid eliminated any doubt that the Maroons were gridiron kings of these parts."

IMO, claims of a national championship have been laid on far less than that.</p>
