Had my Rebel co-worker come by to give me a ration about them winning the West. I made a couple of 'off-hand' comments about Bianco which led to me doing some looking back at the last couple of years.

I do think that Cohen had a bigger hill to climb and he seems to be making progress. In the past 3 completed seasons we have been to 3 regionals in a row, 2 SRs, winning one and making the CWS.

Meanwhile, Bianco continues to win bunches of games, has a much better SEC win % but tails off in the post season. Since Cohen arrived, OM has been to 4 Regionals in the those 5 years but only one SR, in 2009, when they lost the final game to Virginia on an error.

Thus, Bianco has a better Win %, better SEC Win % but Cohen has a better SECT Win %, Regional Win % and SR Win % ... when it COUNTS.

Anyway, if you're interested ...

The two seasons Cohen has had "his" guys we've had an incredible record. Your friend sounds like a dumbass who doesn't understand trajectory or seem to understand what and what not to take into account.

Who remembers how many times the Yankees won the AL East out of the 40 times they've been the World Series? No one gives a ****.

Ask your coworker if he was one of the many that was calling for

Bianco's job last June while we were playing in Omaha

Bianco's been a great coach. Its about time some Ole Miss fans gave him some credit instead of complaining about him.

This is correct, but he was talking about Bianco's last 5 years before this one. The time Cohen arrived at MSU.

Ole Miss has won the first game of each of their 3 supers held in Oxford

The Texas SR was in Oxford and Ole Miss won the first game IIRC.

Pretty gutting. I used to think that Ole Miss fans were just full of it when complaining about Bianco choking when things really got important and you needed more than talent and confidence in your system to relax. After listening to some UM baseball fans grip enough and give details?...I think there's something to that.

So, I figure the choke for them this year will be not winning quite enough games in Hoover to get a national seed. They'll win their regional and lose a gutting game 3 in excruciating fashion on another team's field and the (lack of) home field advantage will clearly be the reason.
