President Joe Biden freed Leonard Peltier Monday calling his imprisonment an example of the U.S. government’s mistreatment of Native Americans.
Peltires shot Jack Coler and Ronald Williams in the head at close range, the FBI said.
The president commuted Peltier over the objection of former FBI Director Christopher Wray. In a private letter sent to Biden earlier this month and obtained by The Associated Press, Wray reiterated his position that “Peltier is a remorseless killer,” and urged the president not to act.

Adrian Peeler, 48 who committed a brutal double murder will be freed on Feb. 17th on orders of President Biden. Peeler murdered Karen Clarke and her 8-year-old son, Leroy “BJ” Brown, in January 1999.
According to court documents, Adrian Peeler ambushed Clarke and Brown as they returned to their Bridgeport apartment. Brown was found face-down, shot dead at the top of the stairs. Clarke was found dead in a nearby bedroom, shot while apparently trying to call for help.
Deputy Chief State’s Attorney Christopher Morano was stunned Tuesday night to learn Adrian Peeler was going to be set free.

“Wow — are you … kidding me? Biden did that?” Morano said.

In the 1976 movie, The Town That Dreaded Sundown, the killer tied up a female trombone player to a tree, tied a knife to the slide and stabbed her to death. Based on true story. I use to give blood regularly at Roanoke Red Cross, an older lady helped out there. I asked her where she was from and she said Texarkana. I asked her about the murders and she was friends with one of the victims. Scary *** movie. Dawn Wells, Mary Ann from Gillian’s island fame.
