we know that you rarely get a 90% approval rating," Delany said in the interview. "But to get a 90% non-approval rating was really surprising.
Two questions. Who were the 10% morons who didn't "non-approve" the names. And how can any commissioner who's surprised at the overwhelming non-approval justify keeping his job.

What a bunch of idiots. First of all to continue to call it the Big-10 is stupid as ****. Second of all they are so geographically bastardized, you can hardly call them East/West or North/South? Third, who the 17 cares?

Much in the same way Ed Orgeron was "cerebral" while Sly Croom was "athletic"?

"We've had enough experience with names and <span style="font-weight: bold;">expansion and development of
divisions</span> that we know that you rarely get a 90% approval rating,"
Delany said in the interview.

According to wikipedia, this guy has been with the B1g Ten for 21 years now. JUST NOW, they're putting in divisions. And exactly twice, counting NEXT year, have they expanded the B1g Ten in that time.

"But to get a 90% non-approval rating was really surprising.

That Delany expected Leaders and Legends to be a slam dunk speaks VERY poorly of his intelligence and taste.

It showed that we didn't connect with our fans in a way that we wanted
to. It's humbling, to say the least, because we're trying to build fan
bases, not push them away.

As a commish, generally all you have to do is stay out of the way as much as possible. Its not that hard. Just damn.

I've been around this business a long time, and I would say it's one of
the more surprising things. There's a sensibility there that we did not
connect with, did not read well."

Mr Delaney, do you know Larry Templeton. ARE you Larry Templeton?

"We want it to breathe a little bit," he added. "I don't think you make a
judgment in 48 hours or 72 hours. Eventually, we're going to have to
address the issue of whether or not it's sustainable, but I don't think
that's a decision for today.

Yeah, rather than quickly sweeping this mistake under the rug, let's let this **** permeate through the national media for a season or two so we can accurately measure the depths to which we already know it stinks.

The only problem I see initially is that Michigan and Ohio State are in the same division. I am pretty sure they didn't want to do that.

Florida and Georgia and Tennessee are in the East. For a stretch there around the turn of the century those three were head and shoulders above everyone else and it didn't seem to hurt the SEC.
Texas and Oklahoma are both in the Big XII South.

Not to be compared with Croom who was both out of touch and incompetent.

</div><div>Except for Wisconsin, the divisions would work perfectly North/South.</div><div>
</div><div>And with Rutgers and Missouri being the rumored targets for the next division, they would logically both be placed in the South and Wisconsin would slide over to its natural geographic fit in the North.</div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>Thus, North/South it is. Remember that Vanderbilt is actually further West than Auburn, so the division names don't have to be technically exact.</div>
