When his offense is about on par with Doucets idk how anyone can get excited. So many 7 min matches of absolutely nothing. He had a match earlier this year where he shot once or twice and then zero shots for the next several matches so you can see upside if you want, that’s fine. If he had wrestled on the front side like he did for third he would have cruised to the finals.

The armchair “experts “ in the stands were wondering how much BT weighed today. A couple guessed that he had a couple of cheeseburgers or pretzels this morning since he wasn’t gassing and took several shots in the last two periods.
The biggest difference between OSU and ISU was the desire to score big and scrambling by ISU. When TT gave up a leg, he just goes down without scrambling.
I saw some great scrambling by many teams where wrestlers turned solid takedown attempts into stalemates or TDs for them. ISU, mizzou, and SDSU are really good with their scrambles.
3rd place match may have been the best BT has wrestled all year. I still have a lot of concern with him come nationals and beyond.
He was 9-8 on the season, showed absolutely zero offense the whole year, was seeded 3rd in a weak weight class in Big 12 Tourney and took 3rd. You're baffling baffles me
What I see is a true freshman that can get off bottom good counter offense on his feet, needs to work on riding and developing a shot. His best match of the year was his last. Are you sure weight is a problem had good seats didn’t look big for the weight.
Also Teague Travis looked small for the weight especially against the kid that beat him summer of lifting might put him a high aa, not saying he won’t aa this year

He is small for the weight, he is a 149er wrestling up against some big guys. What he has accomplished this year is amazing, I hope he gets a good path and can squeak out an AA

And then had 28 seconds left to escape and couldn't. Colossal choke we're so used to seeing. Sickening.
No, no, no he did not. Our #2 seed lost to a #5 seed. That's a choke in itself. Giving up a late TD and then not escaping is a classic.
He got a forehead to the teeth and grabbed his mouth instead of kept wrestling. It how he got taken down. Volk's only shot the whole match, and only attempt at offense.

Yes and then could not escape to tie the match and force OT. He just gave up.
I'm so sick of our wrestlers not winning the matches they should win. It's like a disease. How many upsets have we had vs how many we've given up. Williams obviously over achieved.
