Big z bumping K suave is the real story here. What a legend.
I want Burks back too. Hes a good player.Z and Thiero both back would be HUGE
There is room and need for both
I agree Burks is a hard worker.I want Burks back too. Hes a good player.
It sure is!Is that Burkes with Z?
Man I'd like to have both come back and play for Pope. Along with Adou. Imagine those guys with real coaching. It sure is!
Not a chance in hell we keep DJ. He’s a legacy of Cal’s.So are we just writing off DJ?
I love how so many fans have such definitive answers for all of these things. It would be good to get Thiero back but will not happen. Cal was the only reason Thiero was at Kentucky.
Truth. There's about a dozen or so that would throw down defending their position that Reed is gone.I love how so many fans have such definitive answers for all of these things.
Getting Thiero back “will not happen”
Reed is definitely gone
Z is definitely gone
Pope is going to be awful
We’re officially Indiana
UK Basketball is dead
So many people seem to know for certain what’s going to happen with no more knowledge than anyone else instead of just speculating and hoping for the best.
Interesting for sure
Not sure two big slow guys on the floor at once will fly around here.Imagine Khalifa and Z both on the perimeter popping threes.

You’re probably right. That would be crazy. But I’d like to see it at least onceI don't think he meant at the same time, just that we'd have 2 options at the 5 who provide similar skill sets but in different ways.
As for Pope, id hit Z with the nostalgia of playing for the school who supported him and collectively bought a billboard for him to get him to play and show him how he'd use him (in contrast to how Cal abused him). Ending the meeting with a suitcase full of cash.
Have we heard from Fland yet?Calipari vs Pope
Recruiting battles are up first folks. Nothing will say Pope can compete like winning recruiting battles against The Cow in the hog pen.
Quaintance
Big Z
Some other uncommits...
..lets see how he does.
Interesting about the fans. I know there’s always a few jerks but I assumed he was well liked by most.Well it’s rumored they are after a bag, and then there a rumor that said he didn’t dislike cal, and the fans were the reason he left
I agree. I feel Z didn't get to show his skills and talent with Cal as coach. With Coach Pope, I think Z would blossom into the player he truly is.Would be great if he stayed at UK. I agree with others that he would do wonders In Popes system. Please let this happen.
That's right. If there is an offense that Theiro could thrive in, it would be Pope's.Popes system also creates a lot of driving lanes and backdoor cuts which Theiro would thrive in. Theiro is not a volume shooter but shoots it well enough to be a part of popes rotation.
In some ways I would love that. Give Allen a shot at redemption under a new coach and a vastly better scheme. But not likely to happen and Allen would be better for it to go elsewhere, like Morehead or Murray State for example. Was really shocked at how most turned on this kid trashing him as a player while basically taking up for cal who **** on him during his time here and IMO one of the reasons Allen’s play suffered and seemingly yet to recover from. Whether just not that good or not, he is still a KY boy who got to wear the blue and white.Another player that went to the portal is Allen that would be funny if he came back to Kentucky and Pope developed him into a good basketball player after the way Cal misused him.
This isn't actually true. Traore averaged 20 mins a game, and only attempted a total of three 3's all season. Richie Saunders also averaged 20 mins per game, attempted less than 100 threes on the season. And there's been more as well, especially post players who have been good at the rim.You mentioned the kid from Drexel, Williams I presume as someone else mentioned him too. He took a total of 3 threes last year so if that is who you are referring too he will not cut it in popes system, Popes rotation at BYU all took at least 3/game.
I didn’t look at the entire roster, just the starting 5 plus 1 or 2 of the reserves which did in fact all average at least 3 attempts per game. Think one had 2.8 if I recall. My response was a rebuttal to how Williams would be a better fit for popes system than Theiro as needed someone who could shoot 3’s which the Williams kid didn’t even do.This isn't actually true. Plus, it's Pope's job, and the rest of the staff, to best implement Williams into the system how he can best succeed, if in fact they bring him to UK
Would be very easy to do. Most of us Bennie’s could easily see it who all (99.9%) do something other than coaching as a profession. Showing Cals system and Z’s utilization vs his and Khalifa’s utilization would be eye opening for him.Would be neat if Pope had some film pulled up to show how Cal misused him this past season and how he (Pope) will use Z in a way that allows him to flourish.
BBN loves him they bought the sign by NCAA headquarters and right after that the NCAA freed him… He knows we have his back too… Your right about Pope he’d be awesome in Pope’s offense.Big Z probably feels like Calipari really hooked him up by bringing him to America, and it may be tough to overcome that loyalty.
But damn I think he would flourish in Pope's offense.
I think Z would be GREAT with Pope - and I think that point will be abundantly clear as a result of their meeting today. But keep in mind, Cal sells YOU, he sells the INDIVIDUAL success, he sells the NBA. That is really, really attractive to young talent with NBA aspirationsWould be neat if Pope had some film pulled up to show how Cal misused him this past season and how he (Pope) will use Z in a way that allows him to flourish.
Cal is what got him to UK, but no other elite program at the time would even consider him (he was looking at mid-majors & maybe a few bottom P5 schools). It would be good to get Thiero back but will not happen. Cal was the only reason Thiero was at Kentucky.
