JaMarcus Russell can still make a bigger claim I think, both literally and figuratively. (#1 pick vs #2 pick, immense girth)

Maybe not technically a draft bust...but holy hell...Heath Shuler???

The Redskins got what they deserved with that #5 pick. Horrible horrible decision. At least Leaf, Tony Mandarich and others like them were supposed to be good. Did anyone other than the Redskins really think Heath Shuler was the answer? And at pick 5?!?!

Mike & Mike were talking about JaMarcus i.e. "Purple Drank" yesterday morning, he's now working out and planning a comeback next Fall. They said he was still over 300#!

Has to be Jamarcus. I'm still amazed that so many people were enamored with this guy. They say he could throw the ball the length of the field....so what?

The Bengals also took Akhili Smith in the top 5. Big Time Bust.

Another big time bust was from Penn State was Curtis Enis who went 4th overall to the Bears. I personally think you could consider Mark Ingram a bust as well

So where does The Boz fall in all of this? I get that we all thought that Leaf, Shuler, etc would be much better than they were, but I can't remember someone going from godlike status to a complete bust quite like Bosworth.

Tony Mandarich was supposed to be the best offensive tackle to come into the league, but had to avoid drug tests, so his steroid use stopped and so did his production.

What? No!

1. He's the lowest drafted #1 RB in the history of the draft. So obviously people weren't expecting much from him in the first place.

2. He plays for a team that, before this season, never runs the ball.

3. He shares a backfield with a great bench. Very few people could take Thomas's role away from him.

4. His rookie season was cut short with an injury and it carried over to the beginning of this season.

I'd have to vote for the Boz too. Not only was he a complete bust but he was a whiney little ***** too. He pissed and moaned about not being able to wer the same number in the NFL than he had in college. Threatened to sit out or some **** like that. What an enema hose he was.

edited to add:

I'll also throw in Russel Erxleben, kicker from Texas. The Saints burned a first round draft pick to get him and he didn't amount to **** either.

I wouldn't call guys who had catastrophic injuries as busts

Steve Entmann and KiJana Carter had crippling injuries that pretty much ended their careers. However, the others still are legitimate busts.
