BIG is definitely over rated until it proves otherwise. I remember watching Arizona play Indiana earlier this year. Arizona was far superior strictly from a talent perspective..Big has alot to prove

You can see who of our “fans” rejoice they were right rather than be pissed the team missed out.
It can’t be both? Stings like hell not making it but at the same point unless you followed the group think of no Dayton and no NIT you were ridiculed and shot down.

There is a difference- there are good fans that were concerned and the common fans that do the same thing in football- almost hope to get screwed or lose bad so they can just say they were right.
It is usually the same posters all the time.

Overrated by public opinion. The middle of the pack are competent teams, that’s about it. The net and Kenpom rankings are so close that going .500 in conference after 20 games is almost certainly going to have you in the mix for a tournament bid as long as they keep taking 8+teams. The teams are competent, just not standouts.

Nebraska and Minny was the down fall.... if you cant beat sub 500 teams you cant cry about the outcome in March
Exactly. I said when we lost to Minnesota I stuck a fork in the season. You can't lose that game with so much on the line. Complete lack of focus and leadership. Love these kids, easy too root for but not gonna get emotionally attached when they pull a stunt like that.

Now I get to dive head first into football season to watch us struggle to score 2 TDs a game, go 4-8 and argue with people on here for 6 months about firing GS. Excellent.

If we didn't get in this year with this resume, how the phuck did we get in last year with those non-power 5 losses? Makes no sense. Resume was better this year. I call recency bias. We got hot late last year, went on a tear, beat 4 ranked teams in a row, etc. This year we had a terrible late-season skid. Those ******** factoted that in. Phuck 'em.

We gave the Selection Committee reasons not to select us with how we played after Mag went down. We were not competitive in some of the games, scoring 48 points in one, and not playing like the #3 defense in the country. I think this team was the last of Pike's original formula to make us competitive: rebound,. toughness and defense. It got us from being a terrible team to one that was in second place in the BIG 1/2 game out of first. But without a consistent offense we saw what happened. Starting with the players coming in next year and the change in personnel from this year, we will be a better balanced team. The rebounding, toughness, and defense will still be there but there will be many more offensive weapons. We will be more competitive in league and will do better in the tournament.

Is there anyone with any kind of connection to Rutgers involved on any NCAA committees?

What the committee is really saying is don't let your guys get injured and lose to bad teams. Quality wins don't matter.

Who is "rejoicing"? Lot of us are pissed the team missed out. But just as well you can't blame others for our destiny when we had ample opportunity to control it. Beat Minny and Nebby and we would be dancing this year too. We didn't. At that point every team is in the ball mixer and you can debate endlessly as to who makes it or not. There was a good argument for us to not make it last year while others should have. Fate went our way last year, and this year it did not.
