I wasn't willing to pay the price to start my sophomore or junior years.

-Once struck the side in 9 pitches, struck out 11 in a 6 inning game.....and still lost.

- Never playing college football. D-1 was out of the question, but I could've played at Millsaps.

-Playing first base in Babe Ruth league, the second baseman looked like he was going to throw the ball to 2nd for the forceout. Instead, he threw it to me and he knocked my glove off. Also, that was the year I didn't get a single base hit (the next year, I batted .450).

for bringing that up.

I just want to go back in time and tell high school senior me to shoot down the change the play in the huddle idea. Should have just stuck with 32 power.

Senior year, playing against our rival the defending 5A state champs Southaven. First inning I strike out the first 2 hitters and a lazy fly ball to end the inning. I lead off the top of the 2nd sitting on a first pitch fastball. I get that pitch, low and away, exactly where I like it. The swing felt good, the contact felt good, the ball looked good flying out towards right field. I jog down the first base line admiring my work when the ball hits the top of the fence and bounces back in play. It turns into a long single and coach Poole runs half way across the field yelling and cussing at me. He then brings in a courtesy runner for me who gets picked off trying to steal second on the next pitch. In the bottom of the 2nd, my 3rd basemen boots a couple of balls and plays ole' with a few more. They score 5 and I get the hook.</p>

Blue Ribbon-
Home coming -Gautier vs. Bayou View ( I think, they were orange and from gulfport)

We were down six and had an anemic offense that would've made croom blush. I was 3rd qb(hell maybe i wuz 4th) but started at CB and returned kicks.

Anyway, they decided to pass for no reason at all (**** our O could'nt move it past our own 30 and they had returned a KO to ice the game)...well, their qb was starring 1 guy down so i abandoned the route i was defending (who was at that point beyond tom brady range), headed full tilt for the guy in the cross hairs (thinking now how inadequate our DL wuz), the qb threw it late and behind, bounced off my own teamates shoulder pad (he was slow and well behind the intended receiver) and i caught it in full sprint at my knees.

When I looked up all I could see were 3 of my coaches jumping up and down like little girls giving me the "rounding 3rd to go home arm motion", but decided I was smarter than they were and cut back to the inside...where the biggest, slowest, fatest muther Fer was waiting on me to knock my *** up around my shoulders.

Anyway I got what I deserved. I still cringe when I think about the tape they made me watch ( at least 10x) on Friday.

God, I could've walked in to the endzone from 60 yds out considering the momentum I had if i would've kept to the sidelines.

Red Ribbon-

Goula vs. Biloxi

we were up by a td or so, starting qb got shakin up so newbie came in for last min. desperation drive.

They had to pass so we were playing zone the whole way. My guy reeked of short out route so i just held tight and waited for the newbie qb to run or throw it away. He started his throwing motion my way , but to my surprise he put the ball on a rope as if i wasn't even there. I was already on top of the receiver so it was 1 step and one flick of the wrist when i knocked it up and pulled it down ( i swear i heard the reciever say "WTF!"). What happened next i'll never be able to understand. The ground wasn't where i thought it was. I intercepted the ball but it was like stepping down and thinking there's a step there but there wasn't. What was great was the WR spearing me in the ribs way after I was down. I swear it seem liked I was down for more than a min. when that kid knocked my splean out of my nose. Can't say I blame him, i bet i hit him late at least once on every series.

NOBODY , well almost nobody, ever knocks down all the turkeys. I got 9 out of 10 and missed the last one. I have no idea where that last bullet went. Choked to the max.
