Biggest Surprise Wins This Week.

George Wythe, Richmond, beating Caroline is a bit of a surprise. Any win for Wythe is a surprise, but what really stands out here is how bad the Caroline program has become. What have they had, something like seven different head coaches in the last 10 years or so? There are serious administrative problems up there, or so it appears!

But a bigger surprise for me was Charlottesville beating James Monroe. Does anyone know if Coach Cherbin is still coaching at C’ville? Great young man with a great future.

The fact that Sherando was down 34 points at home. And next game vs. Martinsburg. That will be brutal.

I agree. The Jefferson district will be tough this year. Louisa, Western, Goochland all showing so far they might have good teams.

I had the pleasure of meeting Coach Cherebin in 2017 after a playoff game between Charlottesville/Salem. He saw me down near the locker room and introduced himself. Very nice young man.

I met him at Liberty a couple of times. He has a football mind. When you ask him about a team or game, you get details down to a player breaking the wrong way on a pass route. I wish him well and expect to see him talked about one day in a discussion about the best coaches.

It's sad that Orange never has a good defense. If they did this year, they could beat anyone.
