Biggest team improvement is usually from 1st to 2nd game.

I don't think we looked that bad. We were a little rusty in the beginning. Which is to be expected. But seemed to settle down and make plays. The one thing I was most impressed with is the number of players we seem to have. Being a longtime bulldog fan, I can remember a few playmakers. Now it seems we are deep at most all positions.
I feel good about this team and future teams under Mullen.
Or maybe it's my maroon glasses and my wool suit*******

The offensive line looked to be about like last year at best. It will have to get MUCH beter if we are to better last year's record. Hope I'm wrong.

Well, you can color me unimpressed. I realize it was JSU

but it's painfully obvious that our offensive line is not improved and the defensive line is much weaker. Autry was invisible. I'm seeing a virtual repeat of last year if this game is any indication of things to come. You can sit here and say "it's JSU" but this is the first game of the year and if your not pumped up for it then you have no business putting on your cleats. I'm more worried about the Auburn game than I was a week ago.

offensive line looked rough at times

Especially when Robinson came in at R tackle, he had a really bad series with that really fat D lineman from JSU getting right past him (did he even move out of his stance?) almost killing T Russell then the next play getting a dumbassed penalty. He looks the part because he is massive, but I hope he has the ability to get up to speed, or we are in trouble if he has to play a lot.

We seem to have run behind Siddoway and Malone a fair bit. They were able to get some decent push and generate running lanes. Lets hope that they remain healthy.

Missed Bure on special teams. Lewis had a spark. Nice TD catch by Green.

Gameday atmosphere was that of an Arkansas, TN kind of game. Props to all the MSU fans who showed up to the season opener.

Glad too that many around me were clapping for the JSU band, they put on a great show. Not sure how I feel about 6 yr olds dressed up like little tigers pelvic thrusting, but the rest of the show was impressive and quite precise. Well done.
