Blackshear Visit

There were definitely some posts that he would be at UK this weekend right after he visited UT earlier this week. Then the next post I saw was that he was also considering Memphis. Then I've not seen a single thread or post about his putative UK visit.
He is home where he should be on Father's Day I expect to hear tomorrow on his arrival date in Lexington
I know that I see all of this through Blue glasses. But, to me if I was an NBA scout, he either comes to Kentucky or stays where he is for me to consider him a high level pro prospect. Arkansas makes zero sense. Florida and Tenn, have good programs but no competition for his position. A & M has his coach but nothing else. So, any kid taking the easy path is a negative for me. Memphis has competition but play in an easy path league so again, I see any of those choices as a guy who is seeking an easy path, wanting to run up stats without growth, and not someone I want or expect at this point in his career to advance.
He has two choices if he wants to be a pro. Stay where he is which is a decent one. He plays in the ACC which still has a great league reputation, he is established, and will be their obvious leader with a new coach. Or, Kentucky where he will have to work hard to earn his spot, have players in other positions of great talent, will likely be on a championship final four team, and of course all the benifits of what many consider the best college program. That choice would impress the hell out of me as an NBA scout and with all the Kentuck prospects he will be getting plenty of attention constantly which won't be the case elswhere. However, already he is missing on working out with new teamates, getting acclimated to the environment, and conditioning. He shouldn't be wasting more time. You had your thread on the topic, don't derail others and keep people from having legitimate conversations on the topic.
He’s not a high level pro prospect no matter where he goes. If he were he would already be in the league or he would have stayed in the draft. Going to UK, or any other school for that matter, isn’t gonna turn him into something that he isn’t. He’s a fringe pro prospect who may get a look at the back end of the draft or as a free agent. His school of choice isn’t gonna change that scenario.

Wrong. Really you think playing at Kentucky if he does well will change nothing? It is going to be tough competition for him every day, that is how you improve. You can't improve if you are not challenged.

Yes it is and I just looked at a lot of your prior posts with many of them with negative comments on other subjects. So a glass half empty guy. Blackshear is not Travis and he may have been drafted this season but is seeking to improve his ranking. I will take the "Likes" I have already received from others over your apparently contrary thoughts.

I believe he gets 3 more official visits so I'm sure UK will get one.My guess is Texas A&M and Memphis get the other two.
I am betting you a case of Shastass that the Blackshear family has received a message from UK today and that is that since their entry into the league only three players have averaged 20 and 10 and all three came from the University of Kentucky

He's a proven low post player at the college level that could provide something for our team that we don't have next year. That's why it's important to UK fans to get him on campus for a visit and hopefully a commitment. As far as his pro prospects I hope that would help him but really just care about what he can do for us in his 1 year.

An Evan Daniels tweet that was worded weirdly. Blackshear would visit UT on the 14th and was expected to visit UK "this week", which would have been last week/this weekend.
It is being rumored that he is expected to visit UK on Tuesday. Should be announced tomorrow.
