Kiffin just coached a Mississippi school in the SEC to its 4th ten win season in five years. You just aren’t good at your job if you are a member of the Mississippi sports media and aren’t going overboard about that feat.
It absolutely is the case and a lot of people have pointed it out from day one. Our defensive coordinator was a special teams assistant but he was Lebbys buddy.
I’m on record of saying Lebby isn’t as bad of a coach as his record says. But our assistants are awful and it has shown up here lately.
The Peter Principle has once again been put in place running our University’s football program, and once again it’s proven to be accurate in principle.
Can’t say the defense is garbage. They have kept us in these close 2-3 wins we should have had. The offense was the factor in those. Granted he doesn’t particularly need to be our DC, but don’t fault the D. Got a lack-luster offense who cant show up consistently; yet never shows up the next half of a game when needed. It’s Good and bad on both sides.
I don't listen regularly, but Bo talks up Starkville more than any other MSU grad/fan/media personality, even more than BFW. He has advertisers in Oxford, he was to play nice with them.
For all his faults, he DOES Hype MSU and Starkville! And shows up to GAMES

So … take those totals you just laid out. Defense in those games, kept us in it. When your high powered offense goes 3 and out, time and time again, those final numbers your posting … DEFENSE are on the field the majority of the game. Spent/Tired .. and under-coached. So … again, it’s not been on the defense this season. They kept you in those games.

Exactly. This year's team for instance. I've seen people arguing "we're only a couple of plays away from 7 or 8 wins" and "we're only a couple of plays away from 3-9." Both are right. But the fact is, this is a 5-7 team for a reason. Because that's about how good (or bad) this team is.

If we're going to spend less than the SEC average, we should at least get the most bang for our buck.
