He couldn't be more wrong about Richt though. He's actually one of the most underrated coaches in college football. Georgia is one of the top football schools of all time and Richt is their winningest coach since 1922. And he's had to play 2/3 of his games in conference instead of barely half like Dooley did so he's got a better record with tougher schedules.

I can look past the self promotion and ad placement in the blog (this is Bo we're talking about), but the fact The Clarion-Ledger allows ANYBODY to write without ANY training kills me. Get past all the Clarion-Liar crap - when you look to the state's leading paper for information or opinion, I at least want AP Style whether it be print or a blog. Orange Beach, AL, 5 days, #1, etc. Have standards, Rusty!

As a journalism nerd, it hurts my heart.

*After my rant, I'm sure I misspelled something or used an adverb wrong.

Unfortunately what he does, is be a smug, arrogant prick who likes to talk down to everybody and pretend that he knows alot about sports when he knows less than my 4 year niece.

Seriously, he caters to what people in this market want to hear, and caters to his advertisers fairly......something we didnt do very well when I was at Clear Channel back in the day.

Can't speak for his writing skills though, but the CL knows ratings on TV and radio and they know people listen to him and stay tuned into what he is saying.....it was a good move on their part to get him to blog for them......still it couldnt be any worse than trying to read message board guy's grammar on SPS....

He is terrible. His topics may not be bad, but his knowledge and speaking about said topics is the worst I've ever seen for a so called sports radio host. Dude knows nothing about sports, and he was a nobody nerd before his show started....now he has the nerve to act like he's this high class, cigar boy that only eats filet mignon and sips fine wine. What a douche

I can't even read his once-a-weekcrap due to all of the typos and his misuse of simple grammar. I know he's a radio guy (allegedly) but come on, you can't proofread a 200 word blog entry?

Andwhile I know theycut Bo anice check to bring the "lifestyle" there, butsomeone needs to tell the guy the world does not begin and end at Turquoise Place.

otherwise I turn the channel before I can get out of my driveway.

I bet he would love to have a moment with Mullen like Locke did yesterday.

He caters what people want......

What do we talk about on message boards that relates to in state sports? SEC, Ole Miss, MSU, college football, college baseball, college basketball, MS high school sports, recruiting and statistics. That is about all he talks about and offers his opinion, which is what he is supposed to do.....Its what no sports talk show in MS did until him....Chuck and Doug on 620 were all over the board, and BB show has all but put them out of business.....just ask chuck, he is not even on air anymore.....

Im making a point, I listen and read MSU sports message boards, and I see the similarities. He caters to "avid reader".....just making a point thats all.....I could care less about his cigars and 21st story condo, but Im not gonna stop listening bc of that or his lack of grammar on his blogs.....

Edited to add that I'm a huge Jim Rome fan too. It seems this board can't stand his radio style either. I'm a minority I guess.

You are in tune with his show.

You know what is said on his show.

You know who his sponsors are and what they sell.

What am I missing here? Sounds like he is doing a bang up job as a radio show host.

Wow, so 16folks weigh inon a thread on the Sixpack and that translates into "He is obviously doing great".

That's SIXTEEN. The guy is obviouslya medialightning rod.

I for one can count on one hand the number of times I've tuned into his show. But I do find itvaguely interesting that the guy seems to be wetting hisswimming trunks over a vacation in ORANGE BEACH.

Don't get the topics confused with the host. Just because you are tuned in to a show does not make the show's host a good host. I watch college football, but that doesn't make the commentators good commentators, it just means I like football. I listen to Bo's show occasionally...that doesn't make his show good, it just means I'm desperate for sports talk in a ****** radio market.

I don't even listen to his show. And for those that overlook the writing and say it's just a blog, I don't care if it's a Shapley's menu or a Dilbert cartoon, if you're putting something out there in print to promote your business/ideas it's not a bad idea to make sure the grammar is correct.

Sports message boards are the exception to that rule though...

I listen to the show some mornings. I drive from Flowood to Madison and I swear he talks more about Arkansas and Oklahoma State more than anything. He has an Arkansas beat writer from Little Rock call in most mornings to update us on the hogs. This is really the only thing that bothers me.

And I'll get the BSR guys to send a prize pack and M&M autographed stuff. Seriously. No way does a human being wear that of their own volition.

about 2 months ago. He had skinny jeans on and the shirt was tucked in and about 3 sizes too small. That was the first I'd heard of there being y'all lifestyle gear. Terrible.
