He was going to be 3rd string till his senior year when he would of been 2nd string. Maybe.

strategic win for us. They were trying to slip him in under the radar and now that isn't going to happen.

he has no intention of going to UM.

The UM coaches will see your post and then quit calling him because they think he is committed to them, right?

Brilliant.

Prescott. He apparently wants to start somewhere and is figuring the odds...probably a smart move. I believe Dan would give him a legitimate shot, but odds are he wouldn't beat out either of those two.

His family isn't happy with OM at all and YP only gets indirect quotes because Liggins refuses to talk with him. Our chances with Liggins are much better than most folks realize.

he better get use to a position other than QB. Mr. Freeze say 'basketball on grass doesn't need a 270 pound QB'.

I can't get the images of Jared Lorenzen out of my head when thinking about Liggins. I'm fine if OM loses out on him. If he does choose OM, I hope he turns out to be All-SEC, but I just don't see it. FTR...I've never seen this kid play a down, which means I have no idea what I'm talking about; however, it's hard for me to get sold on a QB that weighs nearly 3 bills.

Just a week ago you said that Wallace wouldn't go to Ole Miss, only weeks after you said Ole Miss was Third for Ward, now you are making up crap about Liggins not being happy that we committed Wallace.

So to be clear Wallace commits around 5:00, but by 6:45 not only has Liggins found out, but he has told people about his displeasure and they have talked to you? In less than two hours? Really?

Can't you just say that you are making crap up as you go. At this point you have been right about nothing as far as recruiting. Nothing, so I guess I should be happy with this "news"

how Liggins feels on this or not BUT its been known since this past weekend that Wallace had an offer extended to him by OM that McReady had already reported he would accept. PLENTY of time for Liggins and family to make his feelings known about the situation.

You think the athletes forget? Dumbass! Plain and simple! I'm not a hard *** on this board, but there are plenty. Best thing you could do is throw that username in the garbage and start back fresh because it won't be forgotten here.

being named head coach at Arkie State helped make his decision that much easier to transfer because Freeze hadn't given him a fair shake or something similar to that? Or is that more made up B.S. for message board foder? But if true, why on earth would he go play for the man again?

Now you have receivers, and what I think to be a pretty damn good qb(and 6 others that aren't). Now all you need is a running back, and an offensive line and you can get a few wins! Wait, I forgot. You now should have a pretty good Dline, but you still need linebackers and a secondary.

The 2nd paragraph was for fun but I still think true. The first paragraph I was being dead serious about and I don't know the answers to

The spin from our side has always been that Wallace left because he lost out on the starting job to Ryan Aplin, simply left for playing time. Who knows if that's true or not, but if it is, it makes sense why he would come play for Freeze again. I guess it depends on which board you're reading on why Wallace left Arkansas State.

Right now he has one more year in our offense than any other QB on our roster. Stoudt isn't going to start in Freeze's offense. Brunetti and Mackey both could, but I bet Mackey can't keep his nose out of trouble, so basically he has to beat out Brunetti, which I don't think is a huge challenge. Wouldn't shock me if he leaves spring practice as the No. 1. We need QB help immediately, so this is a good pick up for us.

it's pretty obvious they're both over it now. Hate we didn't sign him, but you can't blame him for going to play for a coach he knows where he should have the inside track to the starting job rather than a coach he doesn't know and have two tough guys to beat out. Not saying he'll definitely start at UM or that he couldn't start here, but his chances are a LOT better at UM.</p>

No, here are his 'exact' words to his hometown newspaper after leaving & a link ...

Former Giles County Bobcats standout Bo Wallace will transfer from Arkansas State to East Mississippi Community College.

“The coaches decided to redshirt me pretty early in the process,” Wallace said. “Of course I wanted to come in and play as a freshmen, but I also understand that few freshmen get to play right away. What bothered me more was that it didn’t seem like they continued to coach me so I could improve after they decided to redshirt me.”

Wallace added that while his decision was aided by the promotion of Freeze from offensive coordinator to new head coach, the decision to transfer was hard.

“They promoted the offensive coordinator to head coach and that made my decision to leave easier, because I didn’t feel like he had coached me during the year to improve as a player,” Wallace said. “I felt like changing schools might provide me with a better opportunity. The decision of where to transfer to was not an easy one.”

So ... according to Bo (in his own words) ... Bucky stopped coaching him. He decided to 'forgive' Bucky for the lack of 'coaching' 'cause he wants to play QB in the SEC and he has a hell of a lot better chance in Oxford. Spin that.

And honestly I hadn't done any research on the guy. Obviously you have. All I knew were the little bits I saw posted on boards.

I just know we need QB help, and he's someone that's familiar with our offense. That can't hurt. I hope he's good enough to start and do well, because I have my doubts about Brunetti, who I think was on track to likely be our starter this fall. He may not be now with Wallace on board. We'll see.

ETA: I think it's odd that there is so much discussion about this guy from MSU fans considering how happy most of you are with Russell and Prescott. I'm sure he would've been given a shot to earn the starting job, but from the feeling most MSU fans seem to have, he likely would've been a 3rd stringer for you this fall. Ultimately it's pretty easy to see why he'd come to Ole Miss over MSU.

Wallace was a true freshman at Ark St competing against an incumbent All Sunbelt player. Behind Aplin was Phillip Butterfield who had also been at ASU for two years when Wallace showed up. Butterfield had played in 11 games the year before and Aplin had set most of the QB records there, so Aplin and Butterfield were naturally going to get the most practice reps and time with the QB coach. No third string guy is going to get a ton of personal time with the QB coach. They were more invested in Aplin and Butterfield at the time.

I've always though you guys were putting too much value into the words
that were spoken by an 18 year old to his local newspaper shortly after
losing the starting job and transferring. In short, he may have been
embarrassed and saving a little face to the local crowd.

Everyone seems to ignore his quote from earlier this year: <span class="storybody"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana;">“I
left because Ryan, he was Sun Belt Player of the Year,” Wallace said.
“He’s doing great things up there. He wasn’t going to do anything to
lose the job. I thought it would be best for me to leave and try to
develop myself.

It obviously was the right decision as he still has 3 years to play and has BCS offers.

and without 'spin' ... you got it!

Fact - Bo left Ark St 'cause he wanted to play.

Fact - Bo was 3rd string and got 'little if any' coaching in Bucky's system ... despite RB's & even Bo's own 'spin'

Fact - Bo wants to play FBS QB ... (and in your words) "No third string guy is going to get a ton of personal time with the QB coach" ... and, he would start out as the #3 at State

Fact - Bo knows he will have a better shot at 'playing' with the Bears than the Dawgs ... that is the bottom line.
