For those who won't click the link:
"Kyle Flood has the full approval of the Administration. The intention of the contract extension is to confirm to the Rutgers community and to the Big Ten that Kyle is our coach and that there is no truth to the rumors that his position will be terminated. The recent implementation of a Fire Flood fund was done by a small group of people without authorization and in no way reflects the opinion of the Rutgers community. To this end, the Board has voted to extend Kyle's contract by two years to 2020".

And in further breaking news, there's a bridge for sale in Brooklyn. -When you call the realty office, just ask for Kyle.

You're fooling nobody with this post. Even the Rutgers admin wouldn't be that dumb.

Fail.

If you are going to do a RickRoll, you don't try to hook them with something that seems so absurd, like Rutgers giving Flood an extension. You hook them with something that seems plausible, and leaves them wanting to find out the details. Use a hook like "Athletic Department releases Julie Hermann statement on the Football program. It doesn't look good for Flood." Anyone reading that hook will think that is possible, and they'll want to read it.

Also, you don't embed the RickRoll video in the message. If people see a video link on something like this, they know it is a RickRoll. You provide what looks like a real link to your hook, in this case something that looks like the Rutgers athletic website: http://www.scarletknights.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/110915aaa.html

Then you use the link URL editor at the top of the message box to change the link URL from what you see on the screen to the actual RickRoll video URL: http://www.scarletknights.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/110715aaa.html

Then people, wanting to read the AD statement, click on what they think is a link to the Rutgers website, and they actually go to the RickRoll video.

Ha ha. Can you imagine if it were true? It would almost, but not quite, be worth it just to see all the hater's heads explode. The meltdown on the board would have broken the internet.

I doubt we'll see an announcement of any kind, but I still think it's about 70/30 that Flood will be back for next season. If so, there's going to be some serious angst exhibited by many here on the board over the holidays this year as the days roll by without news of a coaching change.

I'll say this though. If Flood was given an extension, I would probably join in on the spoiled-child hysterics we're seeing here lately. I can live with him for another season or two (I'm patient that way). But once we have a new president, I'd really like to see some Big Ten level spending on the football program starting with a serious coaching staff.

Yes, I saw it as well as your post on my rick roll thread from last week. You did a much better job masking the intent than I did, although I think people were more alert to it this time.

These haters are people who have no pride and zero expectations. People that want better for this program love it, don't hate it. Grt thst through your brain.

I'm not very mature. I laugh every time I get Rick-rolled. So thumbs up to the OP, at least from one poster...

One can love the program and want a better coaching staff without hating on the current coaching staff or QB or anything else. I do it all the time.

It's easy if you try. :)
