Daxter Miles has put more time in studying the game and the opponent this year than he has the past three years combined. Miles recognized the elevator screen that they scored off of earlier in the game and made a steal. That was a heck of a play.

Huggins said after reading they had a played a cake schedule it got the team fired up. Virginia is good and they are certainly a top 15 team. Tony Bennett does a great job of coaching.
West Virginia let Guy get going because they stopped guarding him. He’s a great shooter but Jevon Carter made some shots as well. Lamont West is getting the ball off quicker and using some pump fakes and he is the best finisher around the rim on the team. He asked Huggins for help and he wasn’t lifting it up and following through it. He aimed the ball and wasn’t shooting it.
Huggins said we’re getting better. But they have to get better offensively and go through their progressions when they get the ball. He tries to keep the ball in Carter and Miles hands because they know what to look for such as the play where West came off a screen and hit a three.
Virginia is the best blocker and mover team in the nation but Larry Harrison did an excellent job on the scout and they weren’t really surprised by anything.
Huggins said they practice three hours a day and they’ve gotten better which is what they’re supposed to do. They don’t have a lot of experienced guys and it’s a lot of stuff to learn.
