yeah, i do like him as the color commentator. he is(obviously) well informed on how to play the game and the cause and effect of each team's actions.
i also like Steve Bardo who does some ESPN games. ex-Illini and euro pro player who explains how the game is being played very well.

both the guys are able to drop observations of the audience that they may not even think of or see on their own, and thats what makes em valuable.
unlike Vitale who just cumguzzles everyone, or Jay Bilas who while isnt overall bad, gets way too fixated on some injustice within the game and rants about it for the next 10 minutes(its the lawyer in him).

Hit them with a metal chair or choke them with his sweater.

He knows what he is talking about and showed some of Stans flaws last night.
Bob is one of the best coaches ever.

"MSU is going to have to make outside shots to win vs Cincy"
That is going to be our downfall this year, besides SWAT, we have no inside threat.

We need to start Osby...

both the depth of his commentary as well as the delivery. I fear it cannot last.

He says things that you never hear the other "experts" say. He'll only get better. Seems a little uncomfortable at times, but he's good.</p>

You can't stop the coach in Knight. I sensed last night he wanted to stop the game and instruct some of these guys how to play. I liked his point about using the shot-fake to free yourself and later our guy did pump-fake, drove to the tin, and dished the rock off for a slam. I would love to have a conversation about our team. He seemed to like Varnado.

He was informative, impartial, and he was able to bring something else to the broadcast that you don't always get, a true coach's perspective.

Plus, he didn't sugarcoat anything, which was nice. The only thing I think he might have to watch is I noticed a few times when he'd just come out and say "roll back that previous play, I think there was a missed call there" or something of that nature. Whenever he said that, I could just see the guys in the truck hustling around trying to find the appropriate clip to run for him. I'm guessing they didn't like that a whole lot. At those points you could tell that he felt like he was watching game film and had the ability to tell the GA to re-run a play for him.

I half expected to see him go off on the guys in the truck for not getting the replay rolling when he asked, but he managed to keep his cool.

Like the sig pic by the way. Creative.

he did very well last night. His commentary was a little too in-depth (or "coachey"), but all in all, I thought he did very well. He didn't talk too much, made good points, and all in all, he did very well.

is the anti Vitale. Vitale is nauseating and I can't stand to watch him.The OM/Louisville game was the first game that I've watched that he was doing color and I really enjoyed it as opposed to that Vitale sh*t.How he has made a living at the 4 Letter Network this long baffles me.

would be interesting with the history that he has with Coach K and the supposed friction between the two.

After Knight won his 2nd national title in 1981, he negotiated a job with CBS, who took over the NCAA tournament from NBC starting in 1982. Then Landon Turner, the center on that title team, was paralyzed in a wreck. He felt he needed to stay close to Turner, who rehabbed in Indianapolis, so he decided to return as coach. (This is all according to "Season on the Brink" by John Feinstein.)

He is one of the best color guys I have ever listened to. Like somebody said, he wanted to jump out of his seat and go coach the teams on the floor. He knew exactly what he was talking about and most announcers are laughable. He loved Varnado and seemed to be very fair on both teams.

Without fellating him too much, his accent kind of annoys me.
