He is also on the video of Miles' press conference. He calls him out to his face and tells him he's ridiculous. Gotta love Bobby.

my bet is it wouldn`t be much different if his son wasn`t anywhere near the team. Those folks are serious about their fooseball.

Also, I don't care what most LSU fans say, a lot of LSU fans still haven't forgotten last year's Tennessee game, the 2009 Ole Miss game, the fact that Miles tried to call a timeout after an interception in the 4th quarter with 1:30 left on the clock.

When push comes to shove a lot of LSU fans know that Miles has made some of the dumbest decisions ever, but they figure as long as he keeps collecting elite talent, where is the harm, but as 2008 and 2009 seasons showed, if Miles doesn't have elite talent at every position he is pretty damn average.

That being said, I have softened on Miles, I think he is really funny and I hope he is at LSU for a long time.

and the first Bama game this year. Sure Miles has done some stupid stuff, but there's a hell of a lot of times when he's made some great coaching decisions that have won games for them.

Did he tell Eric Reid to make one hellavu interception on the goal line that was the difference in the game?

Did he tell Claiborne to have Top 10 NFL draft pick talent to pick off AJ?

Did he tell Bama's kicker to be terrible?

Of course not, his extremely talented teams made plays. Hell they only gained 239 yards against Bama the first time they played. The only thing that worked out of their gameplan was the option. After Saban schemed that away Miles was left with nothing.

Look, I like Miles I really do, but I've never finished watching LSU play a game and think anything other than LSU is an extremely talented football team. Miles gets a ton of credit for that. As long as he keeps having teams filled with NFL players they will continue to be really, really good. The only issue is if they run into teams as talented as them and coaching begins to matter. At that point, Miles is in a little trouble, because when the talent is even remotely close he doesn't seem to rise to the occasion.

in last year's game against Bama. That play call sealed the game, and I thought it was the best play call last year. He struggles with the little stuff at times, but I think he is a great coach.

I think Miles is also very fortunate on two counts- it seems like his trick plays almost always work. You can say that is coaching because he "called it at the right time", but there is also some luck involved there. Plays like that shouldn't work every single time- I don't care how much you work on it. And the other count that he is fortunate on is the fact that his crappy time management hasn't cost them as many games.
