Just so many important variables with a lot of new faces. How do the freshmen react to a step up in class and all that goes along with it? How good will the team chemistry be? How fast can they gel? Does everyone buy into what Coach is preaching?

Really tough to predict how a team will perform on the whole when there are such big changes - especially with a sport so dependent on TEAM and not necessarily individual play.

This is the new norm. Going to be like this for most teams every year.

The African/Portugal tour will do wonders for teamwork and friendships. BTW- Did everyone see that Hyatt scored 30 points in the 1st tour game? And Oscar had 12
This is such a perfect year to have this trip with so many new players coming in. It should help the team come into the season with more chemistry and hopefully avoid an early season let down loss while they are still figuring out how to play with each other

Also, very high on the potential for team chemistry off the court as Pike creates an atmosphere for it... and Paul is gone who apparently wasn't helping in that area

Going back years, we have had bigs do very well on overseas preseason games

And It never seemed to translate nearly as good when they came back in the states

We can still hope for real improvement

What makes you think Paul didn’t help with chemistry. Did I miss something?

Quote from Pike and the mods that Paul wasn't the best in the locker room. Seems like he might have been difficult to deal with. He was kind of a head case on the court so I can see it being the case. I'm sure we won't ever hear the actual details behind it though

Perfect time for the trip because without getting Cliff some NIL money he wouldn't be back.
