People gripe because we have guys leaving early every year and then they gripe if someone does stay around. If Bolden had come to UK, people would have been throwing him under the bus next year too, saying "I wish we had________ (insert 2017 player that spurned us) instead".

Even though I have never been real impressed with Bolden, I'm sure the kid would play a lot better under Cal. Freshman recruits play with more confidence under Cal. As simple as that might sound to most, it can be very important for freshman bigs/ players in general.
Cannot polish a wart.

So, Bolden goes for 8 and 4 in 23 minutes yesterday at home against unranked Miami and he's got all this upside and potential and it's a breakout game.

Hump goes for 6, 4 and 2 blocks in 10 minutes against ranked South Carolina and he's never done anything worth mention and Bolden has more long term potential?

Hump is only 3 months older than Bolden by the way.

In conference play Humphries is averaging 4 and 4 in just 8 minutes a game btw. Age wise he's still only a freshman.

Cal does not make many mistakes on the recruiting trail.

His recruitment of Bolden over Jarrett Allen is one of them.

Allen was ours if we wanted him and Cal chose to make Bolden a priority over Allen.

Well, Allen is putting up 12 and 8 at Texas. Just the thought that we could have had Bam at the 4 and Allen at the 5. Man.

The kid has pulled down 17 rebounds, shot 6 free throws, and blocked 2 shots. All season. Humphries can do that in two games. Bolden is a puss. The choice is Humphries and it's not even close.

I watched a little of the Duke game, and what I saw for the first time was an energetic Bolden instead of a guy sulking on the bench. I also saw a statement made by Capel that he's playing Bolden over Capel going forward and Bolden responded with a decent performance.

If Bolden keeps it up, who knows - he may work his way back into the draft. Or maybe next game he'll suck - we'll see.

How many times has Willis had a "breakout" game and we thought he'd finally figured it out?
A)No way Bolden plays himself back in the draft this year.

B) Nobody on this board has thought Willis has figured it out. He's bad at everything but shooting and he's streaky at that.

Everybody is "streaky". I've never heard of any shooter that is always hitting. Mason is .537 from 3, but he's had four games going 1-4 and one game 1-5.

Everybody is "streaky"

This is always relevant, When a shooter is hot, feed them until they miss

Then assist a shooter with a longer shot

Can't have too many!

And for Mr. Terrible . . . not relevant anymore

Derek Willis is king of having a good game and following it up with 4 horrible games. He's a defensive liability and is probably the worst passer on the team.
