He sure has sounded like he likes Duke a lot as of late. Still lots of folks predicting UK. Seems its a 2 horse race now. What a team he will have here with Giles , Tatum and Jackson. Good GOD ! C'mon down big fella !

The crystal ball has shrunk for UK last time I checked. It was UK 43% and Duke 33%. I'm thinking the same thing please please please come to Duke!!

Bolden would be the cherry on top of what is already an "all-time" recruiting class. Not to mention, the other team on his list, looks to be a top 3 ranked team next year, for whatever that is worth. I would be PUMPED if we got Bolden.
As currently constructed, if there is one thing to pick at for next season, its the fact that we don't appear to have a "solid 5 man."
I don't believe Vrank or Obi crack the rotation next year, and Javin is probably a 5-10 min a game guy.
It all comes down to Jeter, surely he will improve. But can he play 25-30 min a game and average something like 7 and 7? I love the kid's passion, but I dont see that happening next year.

And I am basing this off the fact that Giles starts games at the 4, but plays around 10 min a game at the 5, in what should be an unstoppable offensive lineup

Read a rumor on RR that someone stated UK was out of it but idk if that has any basis at all. Also people are slowly changing predictions to us

Here was an interview With Bolden I found on a Facebook post.... Looks like he will be announcing in the beginning of April.

http://www.aseaofblue.com/2016/2/29...ing-update-decision-between-duke-and-kentucky

Great comment to article by Kentucky fan: "My theory is that once they visit the Duke campus there is little chance for getting them. I believe they slip a mickey into their soda and implant devices into their brains that are controlled by the evil Coach K. I know this is true because one of our posters read it in a book."

Not only would getting Bolden be sweet. But beating out UK for him would be even better.
Bolden must be watching Skal and wanting to run as far away as possible from that situation.
That and the fact that the class already has like 4 big men, with Gabriel, Adebayo, killeya-jones, and that dude from New Zealand. Skal's might leave, but Marcus lee probably stays; if Skal stays, you again have a rotation of 7 bigs with fox and monk as your guards. He comes to Duke, he's with Jeter, Giles, and delaurier with some obi and vrank. Obviously biased, but playing time would favor the Devils in addition to having a coach that can make the most of his talent.

UK doesn't appear to be as strong lately..........maybe due to recent (poor) performances by Lee & Skal.& questions if they return.
IYO, how does the AJ situation affect Duke's chances......I know different positions but AJ gets major mins up front if he red shirts.

Or maybe he is watching Towns, Davis, Cus, WCS, ..........
I know Skal has been a near disaster, but that doesn't trump the deck.
Either school should be top 5 without Bolden, but he won't hurt.
If Bolden is good to start for either school. he won't be scared away by who returns.

I believe there is 0% chance Amile redshirts so I am not even considering that option.
I think Duke NEEDS Bolden more than UK does. Bolden coming to Duke would almost be assured to be the starting 5 man. Meaning Duke would have a Quality starter and backup at every position. Without Bolden, Duke would be "average" at the 5.
All Bolden to UK does is create an even bigger logjam at the 4/5. And that is not even taking into account what Skal and Lee do. I do not see how Skal goes pro this year, and I have heard rumors that Lee could transfer home to Cali (USC or Cal) since he is on track to graduate this spring in 3 years.

Bolden would probably start wherever he goes, but I believe the fit at Duke makes more sense.

I'd be incredibly stunned if he redshirted

Good point(s), our situation is we don't have an elite SF or enough G's for a 3G start.
Even if out of position (like T Lyles last year), we are likely to rotate Gabe & Willis as SF's
with Bam & ______ &_______&_________ Inside???...none are penciled in.
Humphries, Wynyard, Lee, SKJ , Skal??,
Personally, I rather have another elite wing ala Monk, but who's out there?
Cal does have a history of using a long rotation if the talent is there.

There is no doubt in my mind that Duke & UK will have the 2 most talented teams next year (MSU could be in the mix too).
At the moment, Duke's glaring weakness is a 5 man (Bolden fixes that).
UK's weakness being the 3. Sure, Willis can play the 3, but should he be a starter on an all-time national championship caliber team?? I don't see that. And Gabe seems to be more of a stretch 4 than a 3. I don't think he has "elite wing ballhandling skills"

Just a question, what the latest on AJ. Will he be ready for NCAAT?
If so, he would add more now than later.IMO

No idea really. He's been practicing for a month but has "pain" still so idk how much longer they'll keep him out. I personally expected him
Back when we played UVA but it didn't happen

Duke would be ridiculous with Allen returning and bolden committing; best case scenario with having a legit 10 deep team

Willis or Gabe at the SF might not be ideal, but you got to put 5 men on the floor.
Unless Ulis returns (doubtful), we only have guards who got token pt this year.
They should be enough for back up, but no way are they major players.

Man if Bolden commits Duke will be absolutely loaded. Do you guys see Coach K playing more than his normal 7-8 man rotation? I am assuming that Allen comes back with Thornton, Jackson, Kennard, Jones, Tatum, Giles, Bolden, Jeter, Obi Vrank and Gavin. That is 12 players could we see Coach K play 9-10 guys on a regular bases?

If Bolden comes, than I don't see Obi or Vrank getting any real minutes.
I would guess Javin would back up Giles at the 4, and Jeter would back up Bolden at the 5.

Ulis at his size, is expected to leave???...also Brisco?is he projected 1st round?....I know Murray is good as gone....seems like ulis/brisco/fox/monk would make a good 4guard rotation

Do you guys think Meeks a a senior will be better as a senior than both Bolden and Giles as freshman. OFC

Throw in second year pro Okafor and a 30 something Brand, and you've got yourself a comparison.

That is a silly question Of course Meeks will be better after he loses another 75 lbs this off season, but you are overlooking big Luke"s meteoric improvement after one season of tutelage by hof coach Roy Williams. We should probably go ahead and forfeit next years games

With those two TOGETHER? How did we not lose by 50 the first time??? Makes you wonder...

Okay so not thinking about Amile coming back this year or redshirting and all that... From the standpoint "who would make next year's team better?".... Would it be Bolden or Amile?

I believe Bolden, only because he is a true "5."
Amile has improved tremendously throughout his time at Duke and also bulked up alot, but his natural position is the 4, which happens to be Giles as well.
Not to mention, us getting Bolden, means UK doesn't get him.

That's kinda how I feel too jwill. I just didn't know if having Amile's experience/leadership would outweigh Bolden's talent at the 5 position.
