Just saw a tweet: take it for what it's worth... I'm on my phone sending this so I'm not sure how to show tweets, it's from the Twitter handle @bluedevils

The poster said he had inside sources that were close to the situation.

One of the following two things will happen (Either/Or, not both):

1. Amile Jefferson will redshirt

OR

2. Marques Bolden comes to Duke

Nah, Ulis is all but gone. He's having a killer year, is in the running for SEC POY and he ain't getting any taller. His stock is at its peak and next year is a loaded draft. Briscoe, on the other hand, may return but we'll see.

On Bolden, I had felt pretty good about him to uk until recently. I still expect Skal to leave; his handler wants him making money ASAP and Lee will graduate this year so it's been speculated that he may transfer. I'm really stoked about our incoming big guys but Bam is not a back-to-the-basket guy and SKJ may need some time to grow. Bolden would be the true center they need. But it does seem the scales are slowly tipping in Duke's favor and to add to the unsurity, supposedly Cal has been showing interest in a Turkish big guy. So he may be feeling the same thing.

Still some time left so things could change again, but we'll find out soon enough.

I have a sneaking suspicion Bolden is kind of feeling UK but that the family is enamored with Duke. And it's not out of the ordinary for the family to win out in these situations sometimes. The kinds of guards, wing players and someone like Giles playing next to him has to be an attractive option. Duke is one of the two or three favorites w/out Bolden....w/ him they probably are the single favorite.

As an outsider (and granted, you guys know your team better than I do) it seemed to me that Amile was playing really well before going down, putting in 11 & 10 a game. He may not have the post moves Bolden does, but with the offensive weapons you guys will have next year, I'd almost rather have the experience.

I tend to take information like this with a grain of salt. I'm the type of person who will believe something when I see it, especially with young adults... I'm 30 and I can barely makeup my mind on what to eat for breakfast! These kids have to make a decision that effects a huge portion of the rest of their lives (sorry not meaning to be dramatic).

But if it is true.... I'd be happy either way!

I'd rather have Amile if that's actually the case.. We know what he can do and he's a great leader.

Last I heard from him was Lazaretto. Thought it was pretty good.

Jack said he would make a decision a few weeks following the Duke visit.
All indications were he really enjoyed the visit and the game.

Bolden is in a unique situation where he has to navigate his path to a decision. It's been said many times on here and it's no secret that Bolden likes Kentucky but the log jam of bigs is holding him from picking them. Bolden's family really likes Duke but he still hasn't bought totally into Duke.
Personally, I'd much rather him come to Duke only if he's complete sold on Duke in his heart and mind rather than being influenced by his family.

I read on Tatum's blog that he has been talking to Marques a lot lately. Tatum doing work at recruiting. That's pretty awesome! Keep working on him Tatum.

Could you post a link to his blog? I know he had one from back in January where he mentioned it but hadn't seen anything recent.

It was stated a long time ago we would either get bolden or Amile back but not both.. The writings been on the wall IMO

If you guys would rather have an unproven top 25 recruit over a fifth year senior top 25 recruit coming in, you guys are nuts! Amile is perfect for next year's team. He will rebound/defend/finish better than any freshman coming in. It's not a Jah type recruit here. Bolden is very big and talented, but he could have a Chase Jeter type season. Amile will be dependable and a great leader. Honestly it worked out pretty well with how our roster will set up next year. Guys we are gonna be LOADED. I feel like Grayson is staying saying that.

Yea I always said even without Bolden and Amile coming back, Duke will still be the clear favorite to win it all. Bolden would just have been icing on the cake. Still keeping though that he comes to Duke.

At the same time though, Bolden will have to share minutes with Marcus Lee and possibly Skal if Skal stays. His playing time will be really limited if Skal stays. He would definitely get more playing time at Duke alongside Jefferson.

Bottom line on Bolden...
He wants Kentucky if he feels there are minutes
His parents want Duke.

I agree with this about a 5th year sr but Amile is not a 5, he can play it for short bursts, but IMO he will eventually get eaten up if he is playing the 5 for 20-25 mpg. He's a really smart, solid skilled player but doesn't have the physical size/strength to hold up all season at the 5. I'd love to see Bolden at the 5 for 20 minutes, Giles at the 4 for 25 minutes. That would leave 35 minutes between Amile and Chase. Amile at the 4 and 5 for 20, chase at the 5 for 15. End of games when winning or if you need to spread the other team out you have tatum at the 4, Giles at the 5 or whoever is the better FT shooter between Amile/Giles for end of games. Perfect Scenario, i'm sure it won't play out.
