Was apparently given the choice of retirement, or to come back next year in a limited fashion and Jimbo Fisher pretty much running the show. Probably best he retires. I think he might have overstayed his welcome just a little.

or at least be in the championship game. FSU should have the talent of a top level SEC team and they are a mediocre ACC team.

something about him that seems to lack. He may be a great OC, but may not be a "manager".

FSU needs to forget about Jimbo and go after someone new.

He has, that's what makes you wonder. Why would FSU be so eager to let Bowden go and so eager to give the reigns to a guy that is already on staff and responsible for their play on the field.
In Jimbo's defense though, their offense has really improved and when Ponder was on the field they led the nation in yards per play. Probably the only reason they didn't have a top 3 offense was b/c the defense was like 109 in the nation, and the reason they were losing.
So I think the main reason why they want to put Jimbo in charge now is because they want him to be able to hire his own defensive staff, as opposed to Bobby hiring a lame duck defensive staff that would only be there one year if they weren't the guys that Jimbo wanted.

He will now, finally, get to hire his own staff and the first person he will fire is Amato. They can't stand one another and Amato is something like "Excutive Assistant Head Coach" or some stupid title like that. Andrews is finally retiring and I see Fisher bringing in a lot of new and young faces to FSU.

Hell look at our team. I know we had a tough schedule but we only had one more win. It is the idea that we see improvement and were real close this year to go to a bowl. If Jimbo comes in he will be on the hot seat before the ink is dry.

Supposedly he did get along well with Mickey Andrews and talked him into staying a few more years when his son died a few years back.

Fisher doesn't like Amato at all, though. Since Chuck is one of Bowden's buddies, Bobby got him a contract for way more than he deserves by making some ******** "Executive Head Coach" position when all he does is coach linebackers. Bobby also put him in charge of challenging plays, so any time Jimbo wants to challenge an offensive call he has to run around the sidelines and hunt down Amato who is usually talking to the defense.

The word in Tallahassee has been that Bobby hasn't stayed on for the wins record as much as he's stayed on for the money. Supposedly he's made a lot of real estate investments over the years and they've gone to ****, and he doesn't want to quit and lose his ***.
