besides jilting Tennessee he's got the Ogre trying to convince UT recruits, some of which were on the verge of enrolling mid-term, to reverse course an go to USC. This guy is a true sleazeball.

"Consider this scene: While Lane Kiffin attempted to tell the Tennessee players that he was no longer going to be their coach in a meeting that nearly got out of hand, Kiffin's recruiting coordinator, Ed Orgeron, was calling some of those same players -- mid-term freshmen who'd yet to enroll -- and trying to convince them not to enroll and instead follow Kiffin and Orgeron to Southern California. Rising sophomore defensive lineman Marlon Walls said he overheard Orgeron making his USC pitch to some of the incoming Tennessee freshmen while many of them still weren't completely sure what was going on."

I don't see how anybody could be surprised at anything Kiffin and O will do. They are down and dirty, at best.

Word on the street had O telling the players to not show up for class today (since apparently today was the first day of classes?) if they wanted to transfer over to USC and not lose eligibility. That way they wouldn't technically have "enrolled" or some crap like that. Assuming, of course that they can meet USC's higher (I guess) entrance requirements (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)?
Edit: after reading this
-Ed Orgeron did call recruits on campus at Tennessee and attempt to get them to leave with the coaching staff to go to USC, and did it in the room during Kiffin's announcement. Players put the calls on speakerphone to show astonished teammates. This all happened and is not being made up. Your move, fiction.
it's crazier than I originally thought.

Shades of Calipari and his departure at Memphis last year.

he may be one sorry SOB but he's relentless. I'm sure UGA, UA and UF, the Vols main recruiting rivals, are even happier.
