The other 2 bigs are playing better. pretty simple. Bradshaw did have a nice rebound and put back while he was in.
Just not that good
Far as I’m concerned this rotation today is the best Cal has played all year. Hope things stay this way. Bradshaw is not one of our best 7-8 and is way behind Z & Ugo IMO.

He's clearly behind Ugo and Z. My assumption is that Cal wanted this game bad with all of the Oats talk so he actually played his best players today.
5 mins should honestly be his max. Wagner didn't play much, either. It was a good rotation. We went with what worked.
Funny how good we can look when our coach plays his best players. Weird how that works. Haha
The kid is just too soft and slow to be effective. He needs to work on his body and feet. He is similar to Nick Richards, so hopefully he will stay until he can get to where we need him to and he needs to.
But with Klutch, that's probably not going to happen.

Bradshaw is in Burks territory. Z should be the starter splitting mins with Ugo. Plus we will get Tre back so even though they will be out there together its another mouth to feed. No reason for Bradshaw to see any more mins.
Other than the starting 5, I felt that Cal did a good job with his lineups. Went with hot hands and gave spot minutes to those that just didn't have it.
Z being on limited his PT. He'll get his moments. He's just not physical enough right now which is why I see year 2.
He should be. And it’s a shame that the main reason he gets so much criticism is because he’s expected to leave after a season no matter what. Fans can’t be patient with guys like this anymore because of the culture.
Before Cal arrived, we’d see a kid like Bradshaw and be excited for his future because he’s getting minutes as the 8th or 9th man as a freshman. We would get to say “oh man, this dude is going to be a beast in a few years. We’re set at center for the next few seasons”. etc.
He’d have a game like today where he only played a few minutes but has a nice put back. Maybe a few rebounds and block or 2 and we could say those things. “Can’t wait till next year for him”.
Nope. None of that now. It’s just understood he’s here for one season. And if there were any hope of coming back it’s erased by the fact he’s signed with an agency already that has a reputation for moving their guys on whether they’re ready to contribute at the next level or not.
Bradshaw will most likely enter the draft. And Klutch will probably use their pull to get him a contract. But he won’t make a 2nd one because he’s just wayyyy too far behind in his development for any nba team to commit to him long term.
Not sure why because someone is better than a player, the player he is better than "is not worth a crap". There are teams that Bradshaw might do really well on. Ugo and Z are definitely playing better now, and Z is a similar player, so he gets the minutes when the matchup favors that type of player.
The right bigs played today. Bradshaw is not ready and glad Cal did not force him out there and let Big Z get some run today while watching Edwards thrive at the 4 today.
What hurt Bradshaw was missing a lot of the summer work with the team IMO. He looked out of place today and other players are just doing better than him right now. Nothing against the guy but he's just not doing himself and the team a lot of favors on the court.
That he did, I just hope he does things like that when he gets a couple minutes but at this point it has to be like this.
Not really, DJ is a really quality 7-8 man to keep our guards fresh even not playing well. Play defense his best and work out the kinks before the tourney. I have faith in DJ.
He is just lost out there. I now understand why Klutch wanted him to play the 4. He is useless at the 5 spot at this point. Unfortunately he can't shoot well enough to make him playable at the 4 either. Kid needs lots of work, here next year or somewhere else because he isn't playing in NBA next year even if he's somehow drafted
You beat me to the Nick Richards comparison. Or you could even compare him to Ugonna. Last year Ugonna looked so much slower and looked lost. This year he’s shown more than I really thought he’d end up being capable of.
Starting Ugonna is the right decision. He’s been good even if there’s still need for improvement. But it’s nice to have Z if Ugonna has a bad matchup or is having a bad game. It’s nice that they aren’t clones. Ugonna has some capabilities that are advantages for some matchups and Z has some that are advantages for other matchups.
No, the players can't be patient anymore because of the culture. Cal created that culture of "if you're not leaving year 1, you're sitting year 2" so the kids bump on our of year at any chance. At other schools it's not nearly the problem.
Also, Bradshaw doesn't have a motor. Jumping around on the sidelines or getting animated at a call you disagree with is not a motor. Nor does he embrace the physicality of the sport.
When's the last time he attempted to set a screen? When's the last time he really bodied up against someone under the basket? When's the last time he tried to tear down the rim on a putback? He can try those things, he just doesn't want to.
Don't even think about blaming this on the "fans not being patient".
When i said fans can’t be patient, i’m not blaming the fans. I’m saying we don’t have the luxury of being patient with these kids because we know they’re likely gone after a season.
So i’m agreeing with you. Fans can’t be blamed for having unreasonable expectations for some of them when the culture is for them to leave after one season no matter what.
And bradshaw set multiple screens today. One free’d Edward’s for a mid range jumper. It was supposed to be a wing pick n roll and both guys rolled with Bradshaw towards the rim. Another free’d a driving lane for either Dilly or Reeves i can’t remember which and we scored on that play too.
I like havng a big to play away from the basket opens up the lane for our elite guards
He’s young and missed a lot of valuable experience early in the season. I love his enthusiasm even with his reduced role.
That rebound was the best one he’s had all year, I didn’t think there was any way he could get that.
RE Bradshaw: He needs a year of being in the weight room and having some pop tarts.
I think sometimes we look over that Bradshaw came in late from foot surgery. We all expected too much of him but the potential is there. He needs to come back to school and bulk up
I predicted that early last summer. Same as I did with Collins when this board was thinking he would be a OAD stud.
No doubt, he seems like a very likable kid.
If Cal has realized Z is better than Bradshaw that's a good thing and we should all be happy.

He needs to be introduced to American Pop Tarts and the weight room…. and come back to UK to show out.
