ESPN tries to force women's sports onto us and then makes a really lame
attempt to make the women's sport viable to men's. "Hey! That girl
throwing a softball 65 MPH- that's really like a MLB pitcher throwing a
baseball 110".
That, and years ago our softball team would sit on the trailer in frontof mine if their game ended before our baseball game. Every player on the team would have an icepack saran wrapped around each bicep, each thigh and each calf. I knew then they were either having bat fights or were just a bunch of posers.Todd4State said:I can't watch softball- all the girl's cheering in the dugout louder than the crowd- ie their parents, the strategy of single, bunt, bunt, and hope someone makes an error to score a run. It's disgusting.
title IX has nothing to do with it. the sec obviously already had a contract in place with comcast to air the sec baseball tourney when they signed the espn deal. the terms of the espn deal requires them to air the softball tourney. the sec just wants as many sporting events aired as possible, whether it's women's rowing or whatever, so long as it's not eating into men's CBB and CFB. i guarantee you espn isn't stoked about airing the softball tourney, but of course they are gonna try to sell it as best they can because their job is to get people to watch their channels. <div>GratefulDawg said:Let's emphasize sports that no one cares about over those that more people do.
