A dual position player in our current class from the great town of Wheeler, has been named to the Under Armour All-American Game which is played at Wrigley Field- THE Wrigley Field, not Smith-Wrigley in Jackson, and the game will be televised on MLB Network on Aug. 14th.

So, this is a huge honor, and I think that he is the first MSU recruit ever selected. He projects as a corner outfielder/closer in college, and he is listed as a pitcher in this game.

Some other Mississippians who have been selected in the past couple of years:

David Renfroe and Deshun Dixon, both of whom were drafted the next year by MLB and are now in the minors. Also, a USM recruit, Mason Robbins from George County, was selected.

Woodruff was offered by Ole Miss, yet signed with Mississippi State. No player from Mississippi will sign with MSU that has an Ole Miss offer.

Even if that isn't true I pretty much can believe anything along those lines if you said Yancy said it. Yancy speaks more out of his *** than anyone.

In the first 10 rounds of the last seven MLB drafts (2004-2010), Ole Miss leads the SEC with 23 players drafted in the top 10 rounds. The 11th place team has had 14. MSU is last with 4.

The beloved program had hit rock bottom and too many people in maroon and white refuse to understand that.

Cohen and his staff are in the midst of the LARGEST rebuilding program our campus has ever seen. Yes, even biggerthan Mullen or Richard Williams faced. Why?? because of EXPECTATIONS. Our fans deserve to win and expect to win in baseball. Give him time and I believe he will get it done. We have a very long way to go toget back to being on an even playing field with the rest of the SEC. </p>

also don't understand just how good the SEC has become. Maybe South Carolina winning the NC will help with that understanding some. I think some of our fans are also just now starting to understand how much our facilities have fallen behind the other SEC schools as well.

SEC baseball is about the caliber of high A/AA baseball now, and that's from the players to the facilities. The days of having two good pitchers and a good closer, and a couple of really good hitters winning you the SEC are gone.

Watched him play at my former high school this past spring. Did not pitch that day, I believe he played CF and hit a long HR in his first at bat on the first pitch he saw off my baby sister's boyfriend. Had a 7-2 lead going into the top of 6th, and the coach decided to intentionally walk him with a runner on. Wheeler ended up batting around and scoring 7 in the inning. Anyway, he has a frame that he should be allow him to bulk up a good bit while still keeping a good baseball build.

He didn't recruit more than 10 good players in his entire second tenure at MSU.
