After the two losses yesterday, Nationals are only 8 games back. Please don't let this **** happen again.

Heard on the radio yesterday "well, the Braves are going to win the division, although there is a mathematical chance that they don't".....or something to that effect. That was probably the kiss of death.

There were several that basically laughed at me a few weeks ago when I said there's a chance the braves let this slip away (Braves were up 15 games at the time). I think they win, but if there's ever a team that can figure out ways to lose a comfortable division lead in September, it's Atlanta. These last 2 series with the phillies and nats have killed Atlanta. If the braves continue this skid, the last series with Philadelphia could be way bigger than any of us ever thought or hoped it'd be a month ago.

Regardless, I don't think Atlanta makes it out of the first round of the postseason. No series wins in October in over a decade... Let that sink in.

I'm not nervous. This team has been incredibly streaky all year. To be honest, I'd be more nervous if we were rolling right now. This division race is over. We'll get Heyward back soon and if he hits 80% of what he was this team will be much better.

To be honest I just wondered what took so long. Figured the collapse would have started a week or two sooner. Was it last year or year before they completely unravelled down the stretch?

2 years ago. There will be no collapse like that this year. We may lose our first round series, but we'll be in the postseason.

8 game lead with 11 games left??? Not worried at all. They'll win the division easily.
Although I'm certainly not suggesting any success beyond that.

any thoughts on who you would rather them play in the first round? I hope they can keep home field advantage

No matter who the Bravos play in the postseason I don't think they can win. I hate it too. But they don't have the power arms needed in the postseason. They have awesome pitching but there is a difference between the type of pitching needed in the regular season and postseason. That's why they only won 1 WS when they had 3 of the best pitchers of all time. Smoltz was the only power pitchers. Gotta be able to blow it by people in the postseason and I just don't see it happening.

This is typical Braves. Cruise into the playoffs having gone 3-7 in the final 10 games and promptly get swept in the NLDS.

huge win tonite!

If they had not pulled it out tonite then I think there would have been some rite *** holes on the flight to Chicago. Now with the magic # down to 2 they should have zero worries.

Also, how bout that clown running off at the mouth to Freeman. The Nats seem to be a bunch of low class punks....
