Am I a fool for starting to believe in this team again? I was pretty pumped at the start of the season, then they went on a 10 game losing streak. Does this team have the horses to stay in the race for the long haul or are my bias delusions playing tricks on me?

should tell us a lot about how we match up. For all the crap I gave TP in April, the Braves lead the NL in runs scored here in May. They're also now 18-0 when scoring 5 or more runs.

The Braves of the last few years are masterful at creating interest and hope about June, and then dying away about early September. It's kind of nice, it takes you right to college football.

they were hot the end of the season but just had dug such a huge hole it was too much to overcome.

Where is the douche-bag that was posting on here in April that dumping Francouer to make room for Heyward was a stupid move and Wren should be fired??

Even in that mad scramble late last year I had absolutely no faith we would make it past the Brewers. Plus, it was literally so late in the season that the long winning streaks just didn't seem to matter. It wasn't really something you could believe in until so very late, and at that point I'm in the CFB Matrix.

I just have no faith in the Braves anymore.

For the Braves to legitimately compete for a playoff spot, 1 of 2 things needs to happen. Chipper needs to produce or Cox needs to move him out of the 3 spot. The worst part is, I'm not sure either will happen. Last night wa the first time that Chipper had driven the ball out of the infield in about 3 games.

So far Chipper has done nothing and you can't keep having your 3 hitter come up with 2 or 3 on base and strikeout or ground to 2b or SS. The bats are coming around this month but McLouth, Escobar, and Chipper are all putting up 8th place hitter numbers and we are almost to June. Bring back the Lemmer and Rafael Belliard!!

I know he's getting old, but I don't think there's any doubt Chipper is a better hitter than his .230 average right now. Plus, he's drawing a lot of walks. Same with Yunel and his .200. Those guys will get better as the season goes on and this lineup will be pretty good. I love Prado leading off and Heyward in the 2 spot.

From a pitching standpoint, Lowe and Kawakami need to be better. Hopefully JJ can come back strong, but Medlen has been good. The bullpen is nasty - Venters looked unhittable last night. </p>
