Braves trade rumors heating up

I've seen rumors today of a 3-for-1 trade for Hunter Pence, presumably centered around Teheran or Minor (I think it would have to be Minor), anda Delgado and Pastornicky trade for Beltran (with the Mets paying his salary). I don't buy the latter at all, there's no way they'd trade Delgado for a rental, and Pastornicky is their only legit SS prospect at the moment that's anywhere close. He's their Plan B for SS next year, and since Plan A is 'FA', and Plan C is Diory Hernandez, then i doubt they're trading him.

Minor and two lesser prospects for Pencewould be a good deal.

I just don't know what they could squeeze in to that lineup and no way you let Hinske go with the success he's had pinch-hitting.<div>Prado, Shafer, Heyward, Mclouth, Hinske in the OF.</div><div>Jones, Gonzalez, Uggla, Freeman in the IF.</div><div>
</div><div>Uggs is starting to heat up and the only guy I could see moving would a util/bench guy in Conrad or Lugo.</div>

If Chipper's out, then Prado at 3B, Pence/Heyward in LF/RF.

If not,
If against a leftie, sit McLouth/Schafer, play Pence in CF.

Give Chipper, Prado, Heyward, and Uggla 1 day off a week. Each could use it. That covers 6 or 7 days a week for Pence (or any RH OF, ie Beltran).

Hinske should not be starting. He's there to pinch-hit.

Minor is completely expendable right now, so i could see this happening. and i think they'd have control of Pence for another year, which solves a lot of problems for them next year. I think they'll throw in Vizcaino too, the only question is will that be enough for the Astros? It should be: a cheap, rookie SP and a top-20 prospect (Vizcaino).

JS becomes the 4th outfielder in that scenario, getting plenty of PT. McLouth is the one losing PT, not Hinske. Hinske knows that his role is emergency starter and PH, I would think.

Maybe Prado plays SS well enough to spell AG every once in a while? That would be nuts. AG is the weakest link in the lineup, and he's one of the only righties.

A lot of roster moves (Diory, Conrad) have been made the last couple years under the premise that Prado cannot back up SS.

I could also see JS being sent to AAA for regular ABs in that scenario.

Throw Teheran in there too, but I doubt they will trade him. It will truly cripple the Astros to trade Pence, as he is really their only run producer. I know they are terrible, but at least Pence is there to put a few butts in the seats. Moreover, although they have some intriguing position players in the minors (Jose Altive/JD Martinez etc), none really profile as middle of the order mainstays. Granted, by the time the Stros are ready to contend again Pence will likely be on the downswing for his career, but I still wouldnt trade him for anything less than the above combo. <div>
</div><div>The Astros had a golden opportunity to trade Myers and Wandy last year, but instead signed them to ridiculous deals and now Myers is sucking. Hopefully they can still get something out of Wandy. If they trade both him and Pence, they might actually land enough top prospects to fast-track the rebuilding process. Especially with Bud Norris and Jordan Lyles looking like legit big league arms. Add a free agent arm to Norris/Lyles/Minor/Delgado, for example, and the Stros would have a pretty bright future in the rotation. </div>

Pence is good, but not a great OF. And he'll make $8-9M next year, and more the next year, then be gone. Minor will be an average or better SP making the minimum for 3 years, then hitting arbitration.

That being said, I think ya'll could get Minor and Vizcaino for him, and probably another prospect, but onlybecause the Braves are overloaded at SP. They don't have many position player prospects, and i doubt they'll give any up.

Minor is someone who will be peaking in value 3-4 years from now, and that is someone a rebuilding team like the Astros should be begging to trade Pence for.

He hasn't gotten enough recognition this season. 61 RBIs in that ****-show of a lineup is phenomenal. I wonder if the Braves would have any interest in Colby Rasmus? He's going to be a solid hitter for years to come once he gets his **** together. He has had flashes of brilliance in STL and when seeing the ball well has an excellent batting eye. He has been pretty pathetic this year though after a hot start. Weird situation. Anyway, I know the Cards as an organization are tired of his meddling father and will certainly be looking for a SP at the trade deadline. The Braves can supply that. IfCards don't get a SPI imagine we will see Lynn in the rotation again soon. McClellan has never thrown this many innings in a season and Westbrook doesn't have it anymore. Damn shame Wainwright went down. The Central would belong to the Cards had he not.

Is more than likely untouchable in a trade. He should have a chance of making the big club out of spring training next year. I hope we work out a trade for pence that sends minor and some lesser pieces to the Astros. We sure could use some pop in the outfield
