whether Bobby gives it up early or on schedule, Terry Pendleton doesn't deserve a promotion.

Last in the league in AVG
Last in the league in Hits
Tied for last in SLG
Next-to-last in RBIs
Next-to-last in HRs
Next-to-last in 3B
Bottom third of the league in every other offensive category but Walks.

You can say that the Braves simply don't have the horses, but I'm not buying that when all but 3 players on the entire team and only one everyday player (Prado) is batting above .250. That's a problem. It doesn't matter who hits where when the entire team is sucking at the plate.

As you aptly point out, this is team-wide. Prado is the only guy hitting. There's just too much talent for this team to be performing this poorly. Our pitchers have to pitch perfectly right now for us to even have a small chance. I don't know who would replace TP, but it's time to make a move. But we both know Bobby won't do that, so we'll have to suffer this season and hope we hire a real manager - Fredi or Yost - instead of promoting from within. If we go the promotion route, I'd bet the farm Eddie, Snitker, or McDowell keep TP, should TP himself not get the job.

as a hitting coach. Snitker's pedigree is bullpen coach then managing, and Hubbard's is basically teaching defense to projects like KJ and Marcus Giles. Wellman was briefly a hitting coach before he started managing. Dismuke at Gwinnett might be a possibility.

Also, it's absolutely sickening how well KJ and Francoeur are hitting this year. Jeff hit .311 with the Mets last year and is hitting .280 already this year. KJ is batting .320 with the Dbacks and already has more homers (9, which is 2nd in the Majors) than he had all last season. Granted, KJ is a streaky hitter, but hitting 9 HRs in a month is pretty legit ... and something ATL could never teach him how to do. Terrible.

And with Francouer, the fix was apparently hours of soft toss, teaching him to recognize what's actually in the strike zone. I don't know what KJ's story is. I'm perfectly happy with Prado, though. Much more consistent than KJ and plays better D. But it would be nice to have a guy with that KJ's pop in this lineup. Hell, maybe we could have converted him to 3B for the day Chipper inevitably retires.

They could with the right pharmacist. Have Cox call Larussa. He could help.
