I dont know if he got necessariyl death threats but I know he got flooded with threats of getting his asswhipped if he made an appearance at the opposing campus. And on top of that there is plenty of Bama fans that hate him as well. There was a news piece on one of the Tuscaloosa news channels asking him about why he was insulting the opponents and how he would respond to their threats.</p>

i think he's great...i always loved the bad guys in wrestling back in the day for the very same reason....it so funny how worked up people get over him.
