Has anyone actually been calling Brees a racist? Serious question. I obviously know he caught some flack for an answer he gave during an interview. Just wondering if talking heads or whoever is actually claiming he is a racist.

They had a 17 Drew Brees chant going at a protest in Nola few days ago.

Well of course the protests need to be peaceful. Thats why there are words for when a protest goes wrong- riot and looting being two such words.

While protesting is exercising a right, vandalism and looting of property and easily categorized as not acceptable.

I'm happy to see that we agree then. But everybody doesn't seem to see it that way, given what's been on television for the past two weeks every night. And some of those who seem to think rioting, looting, and burning is a form of acceptable self-expression seem to be mayors of some of our largest cities and members of Congress. And a vast majority of "journalists".

Makes you wonder if there's a compromise where the league schedule a 30-second moment of silence to honor BLM prior to every kickoff. In turn, players and coaches agree to honor the flag/anthem

This would be a reasonable, compromising way to handle it.

And . . . that's why it will never be done.

If you asked me about drew kneeling 3 days ago, I'd say no way. Now, who knows? He might do it, and burn an American flag too. The latter part is sarcastic, but not the former.

Drew Brees has done a ton to help NOLA, which is a majority black city. Now he's labeled a "racist"? 17 that. And 17 Drew's response to that label.

Without a doubt, Brees will be pressured to kneel.

In time, we'll see whether he gets all the way down on his knees.

To a degree, he is already kneeling.
