how much will character come into play in the Heisman voting considering the last two Heisman winners - Manziel and Winston.

You would think that would play a bigger role this year. If so, that will certainly help Dak. But at the end if the day, most will probably look at stats before casting their vote.

I think it has a litte more weight this year than in years past.

I don't care what Winston does the rest of the season there is no way he gets again.

This year it may have an effect but in future years it won't. Fans and judges have short memories. They'll focus on onfield production.

You mean onfield production from a player from a winning team? It kind of baffles me how much season wins come into play with the heisman vote. I always go back to Anthony Dixon and Mark Ingram... And almost every year, you can always point to someone who has better performance numbers (sometimes across the board) than the heisman winner.

I think it will be a very long time before a Freshman wins the Heisman again. I think Sophomores will have a hard time winning, unless they are redshirts and so talented that they are clearly going pro after the season.

And, visibility to a national audience.
Boobie would have been helped by the SEC network.

Maybe my memory is a bit hazy, but what all had Manziel done when he won the Heisman? The autograph-gate came at the beginning of 2013.

I get Winston was investigated for sexual assault, but that was ultimately dropped.

We didn't fully find out the extent of their character until after their Heisman winning seasons. Sure Jameis had the rape allegation, but the crab legs incident and the shouting incident weren't until this year.
