After the Cohen meltdown Friday, I was concerned that you might jam a fork in some schmuck's eyeball if we lost to USC yesterday. Then we lost AGAIN to Iowa last night, so I'm wondering if you are in the Nashville pokey for aggravated assault, simple assault, manslaughter, negligent homicide, murder, or DUI and resisting arrest, or public intoxication. concerned Sixpacker.

2 loses to Iowa is not acceptable at this point. They are an awful team and we are playing at home, no excuse for it.

I went to sleep when we were down 6-0, how did we score six runs? I am assuming errors and walked in runs since we couldn't hit a softball last night.

inexcusable no doubt. I was just checking on BTD because I didn't know we lost game 2 until this morning.

I've learned to, instead of punching holes in walls, to come on this website and vent my frustration. The loss Friday night ended any kind of expectations I had for this baseball team. Kind of like the FAU and East TN State games did in basketball earlier this season. I won't be flying off the handle every game we lose from here on out, because I now realize how ****** this team is going to be. If you can't beat the likes of Iowa in baseball, you aren't going to win many games in the SEC. Who would have thought it would take Cohen twice as long to turn the baseball program back around than it did Mullen to turn the football program around?

I seriously didn't mean to start an argument with my statements Friday, but I forgot my own personal stalker would be there quickly to start flaming away. Did I overreact? Probably. But I just cannot stand to lose to MUCH inferior competition in baseball. Sure, you're going to lose some games because of the old adage, "that's baseball", kind of like we did against Belmont that first game of that series. We hit the ball solid all night long that night, but right at their defense. That stuff happens. Against Iowa, though, we were completely dominated by a ****** *** team, and that just isn't acceptable to me. Like I said though, that game tempered my expectations of this team. I really felt like we'd get off to an 18-2ish start, build some confidence in the process, and win 12/13 games in Conference play...and make it back to a Regional. Not so much now.

As for the basketball game yesterday - I haven't really given a **** about this team all season long, like I referenced above. This whole season has been a complete cluster and I'm honestly just ready for it to end. That's why I haven't been on here discussing things very often. It's actually been kind of nice because my blood pressure has remained at a level it's not used to seeing from Dec - March. However, the last 5 minutes of that game got me fired up and pissed off for the first time all year. For whatever reason, our players went brain dead for about a 2 minute stretch there, and couldn't hold onto the damn ball. Then of course the stupid *** ref doesn't call a timeout when he should have, then makes up for his mistake by T'ing up our coach. When you make a mistake, you don't make up for it by rubbing salt into the wound. So, even though we actually won the game, I was still pissed for an hour or two after the game ended. Nothing a little Jack Daniels couldn't cure though.

Anyways, I'm over this baseball team. Last night's game just had me shaking my head. It's going to be another long, long season on the diamond. I just can't believe in year 3 we're not much better than we were in year 1. The lack of improvement really has me questioning what the hell our coaching staff is doing. No more flying off the handle, though. That is a promise.

sure we are losing to inferior talent. Statz hasn't shown me that he has SEC talent at this point.

You are right about our baseball team is not very good. Just put of curiosity, how long would you give Cohen if this season tanks?

and didnt really replace it with anyone that can really mash the ball. Scoring is going to be an issue, as you can already see the drought's we are going through.
againstweaker competition.Ilike waythe administration and coaching staff decided to soften the non-conference competition to give these guys some confidence, get some easy W's , etc , but I think once SEC competition starts you will see this team really struggle...again. .. 10 wins(plus/minus 2 wins) would be a logical assumption in league play

If you can't make a Regional at Mississippi State University in 4 years, then it's time to move in another direction. I hope he gets it turned around, because I like his intensity and of course, he's a Dawg, but results are ultimately what matters in sports. If you can't produce those in 4 years, then it's time to find someone who can.

He needs to be feeling some serious heat right now. We're in year 3 and I don't see ANY improvement over the Polk III disaster at all. If anything, we've gotten even worse.

I am with you there. I think he does deserve one more season ONLY IF he improves from last season ...i.e ...more than 6 conference wins and 23 total wins. Some of you have short memories. Does this stretch last year ringa bell?

we lost a game by 6 runs that went into extra innings.

Im so glad Ive forgotten all that.
