And because you asked, another poster was an executive for a software company that had a division that employed autistic people to perform repetitive tasks…something that was a wonderful program but required very specialized onboarding and training. So LOTS wasn’t all bad.

I respect JD's decision to not want to add extra work on top of current demand to moderate another forum. Moderating the Trove and the Pirate Crew are more than enough time and effort, I wouldn't want to have to add a 3rd forum take away from his efforts to improve the 2 sites which bring all of us here.

I am with you 100%, but this board isn't even moderated as it should be. You and <20 other posters are worth reading, because the posts aren't overly optimistic or scathingly critical -- over and over and over again. It seems like a lot of what goes into moderating a board is "too much work."

Hi Bobbie, thanks for the shout out. The new moderator has made it clear it was his decision to discontinue the board. It took a year to come clean, but the truth always sets you free.

This thread was a bittersweet reunion of sorts, up to and including Hall85 doing fantasy business with fantasy people. He never disappoints.

I hope you are well and will be attending games this year. I will be back for another season. Like everyone else, I can’t stand the new NCAA business model but I still support the Pirates. If they put forth a team, I will be there to watch.

The problem is also that "political views" are converging with sports like never before so it shows up on the free board very easily, especially with no LOTS board and during the off-season when there’s little to talk about.

Don't miss it at all. It's basically just a forum where misinformed & gullible narcissists think they have the super power to actually change someone's mindset with their overly liberal or conservative views.

That's a pretty broad dismissal, and could describe any forum, anywhere. Much of it was that, but there were a few people who could engage in informed debate, cern and Merge come to mind, although I didn't necessarily agree with them on everything. One unique thing about it was that we all had at least ONE thing in common: fans and/or alumni of Seton Hall.

Exactly. If you're interested in talking about politics online, there are not many places to do it where you will engage with the same people somewhat respectfully (for the most part) for years.

I didn't expect to change minds so much... but maybe I at least did on EVs, and some of you are now saving money on fuel costs and enjoying a better driving experience

Agree…that’s not happening anywhere on-line and perhaps the fact that some of the posters have met in person over the years at SHU games, had sokoto do with it. LOTS wasn’t 100% anonymous.

While the full EV still falls short for me (charging limitations, etc) I did take the plunge with a plug in hybrid which provides a 40 mile range daily before IC fully kicks in. Not the reason I bought it, but it’s served well with gas over $4/gal.

merge, miss those post-pandemic prediction discussions like the unfortunate impact on mental health.

Unfortunately, too many people now see every issue through a divisive political party lens rather than discussing the merits of each on their own.

Would be interesting to get opinions on data centers, but not happening.
