there's alot of talk on here about qb, as there should be.. im still in question about the running back position.. ballard and griffin signed this year.. do we have anybody at this position? since neal jumped ship this is a way up in the air concern for me

I think he will be good if Mullen can put some size on him and get him not to slip down as much. Wow, that still haunts me to this day.

I'm depressed again. But to comment on Elliott, I'm not sold on him until he can show me that his quickness is as good as it was touted to be. I want to see him become a step faster and bigger in the off season.

Elliott has some experience, but none have the "every down back" experience ala Dixon. There will be some growing pains w/ these guys .. fumbles, fatigue, both mentally and physically .. stuff like that. Our best bet for this season is Ballard .. here's to hoping he turns into our every down back. Last I read he stated in an interview that the coaches wanted him at 220-225 this season.

..supposed to be the real deal, would have played last year if we didn't already have 3 seniors at RB.

He did come on strong later in the year & Dixon said Montrell could break his records. Who will replace Ducre at the Superback position blocking, running and catching?

They're going to give Hanrahan a look in the Spring.

Does anybody recall how he ran last spring. Was he not the leading rusher in a few of the spring scrimmages? He sure will lay the wood blocking.

may not be as experienced but we have plenty of horses in the stable, I see more of a running back by committee until someone steps up. Right now I'm on board the Choo-Choo

Also, they'll be running behind a good, experienced offensive line. That'll help a lot.

He is supposed to be one of the best in country. ****, he got Dixon in complete working order in the off season and look what it got Dixon. He might make millions because of it.

But he also said that they are going to get all the athletes on the field during the first practice and get them to run RB drills, WR drills, LB drills and DB drills so the coaches can fully evaluate them.

Mullens knows Hanrahan very well and will not just give him a look. He will ready him for the position and let the battles begin at all positions during spring it will be fun to watch.

I've heard mixed feelings from the players on Conner, some say he's got the potential to be good and others say he really isn't that special and can't break tackles..

On the other hand, having played against Vick 3 times in the past 2 years, I assure you all that he is a real stud and has a chance to do a lot in this offense. Out of all the teams we played, Vick was by hard the toughest back to get a hand on and bring down andwe even played against Rashad Henry from Arizona who was the number 1 JUCO back at the end of the season.Vick isvery shifty and elusive and runs low and hits the hole hard. May just lack a little breakaway speed but still very quick.

Yeah, I think Mullen's saying that about Wells because that's what he told Wells...that he will have a shot on offense, just like everyone does. I'm imagining that once they get on the field, it will suddenly become apparent that Wells' best position is on defense. One thing's for sure, though...it's definitely nice to have so many guys who can play several different positions and on both sides of the ball...Carr, Wells, Jay Hughes, Jamerson Love, Jameon Lewis, Griffin, Brandon Hill, Chris Hughes...
