Compared to Smith, Washington, and Anderson, they played fantastic. Even though it was MTSU, you have to start somewhere. Broomfield has good field vision, and Banks was in position on quite a few plays. I remember one play that Banks swatted down that would have been another pick for Broomfield, so they were both all over the place. I would expect Langston and Broomfield to both start this weekend. I think when Charles Mitchell gets lost on defense is when we are at our best. We liked Mitchell so much last year because he was able to cover up other peoples mistakes. When Mitchell is allowed to cover his own area and not have to be the hero of the secondary, our defense will have taken the next step forward.

great play. I know it was MTSU, but for some reason, I wasn't holding my breath every time they threw the ball. I felt comfortable, especially when we intercepted 4 passes on 4 consecutive drives.

langston was covering in man, recognized the run, and came up to make the play on the RB. he would've been in a perfect position, had the RB not raised up and thrown the ball. luckily, mitchell was able to get back on the underthrown pass to make the tackle. could've been ugly.

you're right - if guys can just do their jobs, we'll have a decent secondary. other than that one play, i thought langston looked pretty good. he was out of position a couple of times, but that's no different than any other DB we've played this year.

banks looks like a SEC safety.
