Brown should get this season to get to 8-9 wins or fire him.

The silver linings:

98-yard kickoff return by Winston Wright.

3 touchdowns by Leddie Brown.

Wright had 221 yards in kickoff returns on five kickoffs, an average of 43.4 yards.

That broke Tavon Austin’s school record of 199 kickoff return yards, set in 2012 against Kansas State. The 98-yard return was the longest non-scoring kickoff return in school history.

Build on that. Shore up the rest.

You can't Trust the Climb if you are continually climbing out of a hole of your own making.

So he was amplifying an election year wedge issue which was divisive...but that isnt being political?

If that's not being political, what is?
He did what every coach and pretty much every business organization in the country did. He supported their stance on what their members see as perceived racial injustices. Just because he supported that element of it doesn't mean he is a card caring member of the organization. The question is why don't you support it. NB and every other coach in the country knows that the majority of recruits don't share your partisan political beliefs. NB is a member of the fellowship of Christian athletes the guy is no liberal. You guys are the only ones who keep talking about this. Get over it the election is over. If anything have the decency to take it over to the ot board were it belongs.

Screw you loser.

TVZ/Vorhees just keep doing circles around this subject. They’d let a player piss on them if it brings them to the school. That’s how pathetic they are.

You left out terrorist as well. People have been killed by them, cops shot in Texas, untold value in personal and public property destroyed. Morons want us to believe that everyone supports BLM and Antifa, but the truth is only the mentally weak, morally corrupt and down stupid do. Regardless of which flavor they are, all of them are racist.

I don't support BLM but they bring to light that their are perceived racial injustices in this country. You're looking at this issue like it were black and white and ignoring the gray areas which exist in most of these issues. Since this is labor day do you feel that the people that pushed for the 40 hour work week were socialist's? or the people that advocated for paid holidays were socialist's. The business groups that fought the labor unions that got us paid holidays and the forty hour work week labeled socialists by these people.. Fascism, socialism are just bogey man terms thrown around by msnbc and fox to discredit things that they don't like. NB is trying to portray the wvu football program as inclusive. He can't have opposing coach's going around telling recruits that wvu tolerates racism. NB was in a tough spot. He made a business decision and any previous wvu coach would have done the same. You don't have to like it but don't let it get in the way of something you enjoy. At the end of the day it isn't going to change your life..

I never said they did but NB didn't have much choice he took the position because he knows the position of elite recruits. Its the same reason Nick Saban did and every other coach in America that wants to win. I doubt NB or any coach wanted to be discussing social issues. They were thrust into it and decided to heir on the side that was going to best help the program and their pocket book.

Folks tend to go along to get along especially if the alternative puts a lucrative career in peril. However there does need to be a line and supporting a violent justifying, false narrative spewing, racist hate group that is also a Trojan horse for a whole slew of unrelated political ideology points is arguably over that line.

How the F do you transpose a peaceful organization protesting violence and murder against people of color for no reason into a "racist socialist organization"?

You fing racists are so ridiculously hate filled you can't even think anymore.

Black people and people of color are being MURDERED in very large numbers, harassed, maimed--for no reason except that ******** like you exist and hate everyone. Has NOTHING to do with socialism and is certainly not racist--they are trying to STOP the RACISTS LIKE YOU, IDIOT.

There are more blacks killing blacks. See Chicago.
There are blacks beating and kicking Asian women in the head in New York City.

When are you going to stop pretending Blacks are not racist.

How many millions did the BLM leader rake in and not pay taxes on, 90 million was it. She got rich by pretending to fight for black freedoms.

Crime as in criminals dofus. Black males make up at most 5% of the population and they have incaration rates equal to those of Hispanics, Whites and Asians combined and the legal systems lets many Blacks go instead of jail. Whites get shot by cops more than Blacks do. Climb down off of the racist cross, you don't make a good Jesus.

A vast majority of violence is INTRA-racial and not INTER-racial. Only 2 groups are more likely to be victims of INTER-racial violent crime than by crime from within their own race. Those 2 are Jews and Asians. The majority of the violent actors against these 2 groups ... black people. Less than 15 unarmed black people were killed by police each of the last 2 years. Some of those were behind the wheel of a car trying to hit police who were on foot. A police officer is 18 more times likely to be killed by a black male than a black male is likely to be killed by a cop. BLM has people convinced that 100s of unarmed minorities are gunned down by police every year. Despite the fact that a white male is MORE likely to be shot by police than a black male on a per police interaction basis. Whatever the problems are in the US, they are not as severe as BLM paints them. They also lose all credibility when they protest Rashard Brooks (drunk passed out at a Wendy's that fought police and stole their taser), Jacob Blake (Knife weilding Kenosha man trying to drive away with the kids of, and in the vehicle owned by, the person that called the police in the first place), and Mikiyah Bryant (girl that was in the act of trying to stab an unarmed citizen) as unjustified when they all clearly were. Whatever problems America has they are not core and so systemic that the entire country needs to be torn down and reformed ... in a Marxist, Socialist fashion as advocated by BLM.

Why are you even talking about this? If Nick Saban wanted to coach here would you be opposed. Is his moral compass any different then the guys that we have elected to represent this country over the last 50 years. Wvu has been going down the toilet ever since RR left. Too bad you haven't realized it.

Well if it's OK for the head coach to talk about it...its OK for the fans.

Fair is fair...NB made this part of wvu football, not us. Blame him. He politicized the football program...
In 80 and 84 I ran a field office in western Maricopa country for local and national gop candidates. I was in charge of helping the spread of misinformation of opposing candidates. The opposition did the same to us. You need to stop listening to this BS. About 90% of what these people say they stand for they don't. Culture war issues are used to fire up the base to get people mad and to have people go out and vote a certain way. Most candidates don't believe what they say on these issues. They are just playing one side off against the other. Your problem is you view the world through a black and white lens. Saban's and Brown's support of BLM only goes as far as taking a stand against racism and that's it. Its the same stand that pretty much every corporation and business leader took. He only politicized it in your mind. You still haven't answered the question if Nick Saban wanted to coach at wvu would you oppose this hiring

Nick Saban doest mean anything to me, he'd go 8-4 here like everyone else.

Im sure everyone would be just fine if Brown was leading Trump rallies downtown Morgantown...or anything similar.

Gundy was forced to apologize because he wore a hat of a news network that is right leaning...while he was fishing on his personal time, I believe

I can agree to disagree with you, personally, on this issue but I wont agree to compromise my own personal beliefs on the matter. I'm unsympathetic to Brown and whatever situation he was in...his decisions are his own and he shouldnt get a pass simply because he did it to recruit football players. If his personal convictions run that shallow I dont respect him anyways.

IMO, it was a slap in the face to a lot of fans, so he can shoulder the dislike that comes with it...everything a coach publicly does gets discussed, this is no different.

The culture war is a legit thing. Culture is upstream of politics. That means the average citizen is much more engaged in culture than politics and thus will tend to lean more toward the politics seen most in culture. The right side of politics ceded that to entertainment media and academia decades ago. Now we have men with their penises and testicles hanging out going unto locker rooms with underage girls and a not insignificant number of the populace are okay with it. Institutions such as the CDC and American Academy of Pediatrics, supposedly apolitical and objectively scientific institutions, are openly saying that men can get pregnant and 5 year old children can determine their own gender. We also have folks that believe "hate" and racist speech should be punished by the state and that the first amendment isn't that important.

This all started with left leaning folks making common cause with authoritarian racial, sexual, and gender grievance mongers because these groups have similar views on anodyne tax and social safety net policies. Now the right is somewhat doing the same with populace authoritarians. What needs to happen is whether you a socially or financially conservative/liberal, you should make common cause with those that share your core beliefs of individual liberties and the sentiment that "while I disagree with what you say, I'll defend to the death your right to say it." Authoritarians who believe that the common good takes precedent over individual liberties are the true threat to the American Republic as individual liberty is the singular founding philosophy of the United States. That is the political fight of our lifetime and means far more than debates of say "flat tax" vs "progressive income based tax"

The culture war is a two way street always has been always will be. Both sides are equally responsible. Its nothing but a tactic to distract from real problems. It could be used to mask a poor record. It could be a diversion when trying to pass controversial legislation. It can hide a shady background. These are the 3 biggies. The company I retired from is always sending representatives to the dnc and rnc conventions. They always contribute to both sides either way they have influence regardless of the outcome. How many people would spend millions of dollars to get a job that pays 200K. Its not the 200k that they want its the million upon millions of kick back money from their buddies and the special interests. The field office I worked out of pushed a candidate for a city council position back in the 80's. It was the typical I'm a born again Christian, morals, family values etc etc etc campaign. The guy ended up winning. What the people that voted for him didn't know is that he was an atheist who drove 6 hours up to Vegas every weekend gambling and hiring high priced escorts. The reason he ran was there were several large proposed real estate development projects being held up by environmental groups and him and some others provided the necessary votes to proceed with the development. His shady background was known by the opposition but his I'm a Christian campaign was ran pretty effectively and provided the necessary diversion to get folks looking right instead of straight ahead. BLM, proud boys there nothing but diversions being pushed in cable news fantasy land and the majority of the elected officials don't care about them. If you want to know what someone's really about just follow the money. Look at who his or her donors are and their soul will be revealed.

I agree that grubby politicians are just paying lip service to various groups for their own benefit. What I am saying is that the political right/conservatives abandoned the culture war and now there are a large enough number of people to actually be dealt with that think men can become women. Men can be pregnant and breast feed an infant. That a transgender woman should be the "mother" on a birth certificate despite their transgender husband was the one that birthed the child through their ******. That America is completely rotten to the core and that the concept of individual liberty is solely based upon racism and thus must be destroyed. That America should adopt Marxist ideology despite the perpondrous of evidence that shows this ideology has resulted in vast abject poverty and the murder of hundreds of millions of people across the globe. Those grubby politicians and also corporations are still just paying that lip service. Problem is that lip service is more and more left leaning with abject insane ideas being coddled despite every objective measure countering said idea.

This is the fallacy people like you try to push. This is not the fault of both sides equally. The Left is always doing this crap and when the right finally had enough, then it was a crisis. The right has let this slide for decades and now we push back and it is a social upheaval. As soon as you on the left get caught like this, you scream everyone is doing it. Not true. Just YOU are doing it, we finally had enough.

YOU also compare BLM and the Proud Boys. So far as I know, the Proud Boys have killed no one. You seem to have a serious issue with comparisons. you try to sound like a middle of the road guy but you are a liberal through and through.

Spot on. Lefties always try to justify their cultural disasters with the "both sides do it" bs. If all the progessives left this country we would have a better place.

Not at fallacy at all. One of the reasons Reagan was successful is he tapped into the moral majority movement that faldwell created in 79. He put a majority of the Christian rights social issues front and center. Goldwater had attempted to tap into religious movements in 64 but was unsuccessful. So to suggest that this is new and not a two way street is pure ignorance on your part. You probably weren't around back then so that might explain it.

You give me an example of a time when only one party was pushing social and wedge issue while the other one wasn't. Good luck with that one. It takes two to tango
