only 1 4 star (massie) remains. but - there are still 20 on campus (19 active - tim simon is probably never going to return from injury). 15 of those have contributed to date and 4 are longshots.

in contrast msu has 18 still on campus from that class (counting darius slay re-sign). 4 of those are 4 stars (originally there were 8 - 3 of whom were jucos andexhausted eligibility and the 4thwas conner).

nearly all of state's remaining players have contributed.

arguably - classes are about equal today (going forward - state got significant production out of its jucos in that class - similar to om's juco haul in 08).

according to scout - signing day rankings in 2009:

msu - 19
om - 17.

overall i would say state's class lived up to that ranking for the 2010 season. to date- om has not.

going forward - we will see - but as i said previously - i think classes are about the same talent and production wise headed into 2011.

Some were headed to Prep school and some to Juco. I really do not have much of a problem with this type of over signing. The problem is where you over sign and cut a guy like Woodson from Olive Branch in July and he cannot transfer to a like school without sitting out a year. I would bet that the rule will change that if a player is cut that he will be able to transfer without having to sit out. At least Nutt had the balls to cut his guys this year right after signing day. It is taking a risk because he does not know who will not qualify.</p>
