Why is it when MSU loses out on recruit (who was never committed to us), it's always because we lost a bidding war?
It is rare to see such virtue and integrity from an SEC institution.<div>

Not saying it is the case here, but a lot of times, we do lose out on the bidding war. We have supporters but not in the number and volume as most of our competitors. That's why I never understood all the recruiting yahoos out there that talk about this kid choose this school over the others b/c of blah blah blah. Don't be naive, 9 out of 10 times for the big time players who can command it, it comes down to cash. Plain and simple.

But, watching that FOX video yesterday, I did not see a guy that was fully confident in his decision. He looked like a beaten puppy when he was saying he was going to WVU. I'm sure it's nerves or he's just emotionally beaten by the whole process. But, it could have been uncertainty. You never know.

Can't be. Robertson is nothing but straightforward and truthful at all time. He wouldn't tease, lie, or mislead. Not even by accident. He is above the shenanigans of recruiting gurus nationwide.
Note that the original post didn't say we lost him because WVU was offering money and we weren't. It said that WVU was offering him more of it than we were. I have no doubt that several current and former football players came to MSU because we did outbid somebody else.

You know the Ninja - and I'm sure other athletic departments are doing this now - has lurkers on staff. You've got to see how someone in the athletic department can ignore all those first type posts as rhetoric and conjecture, since they obviously can't be proven (and are probably not true, since everybody knows we don't offer players money). But if someone were to claim knowledge of something, and they happen to get any of the facts accurate, or even close, they might as well expect a call from someone on high pretty soon.
It has happened. And before you ask -- NO, I'm not going to tell you or the board how I know it has happened.
