Whatever Gabe's favorite food is, someone hide scratch and sniff stickers on his opponents legs. Problem solved!

Barr won't have a huge height advantage, but he won't allow it to go 1-1 to overtime. Not knowing the brackets could he face Barr? Curious if he could keep it close.
But isn’t Welch getting punished? Welch now gets the #2 guy in the country in the quartersThat’s fine
Why should Angelo get rewarded for sitting
Unfortunately yes but I love seeing guys who sit punished. Needs to be cleaned up in like Haines case cause everyone sat vs him. But I want to see big regular season matches. But isn’t Welch getting punished? Welch now gets the #2 guy in the country in the quarters
I went to Iowa's stats on TrackWrestling. Can't win matches with getting a 1 pt escape.
He's not big as a 174, and really small as a 184.
I know he's sacrificing for the team going 197, but fans really need to temper expectations here.
He's likely looking as a blood round ceiling at Nattys.
Not. Gonna. Happen. Give him credit, but he's not an All-American at 197 lbs.I went to Iowa's stats on TrackWrestling.
Gabe has a 15-5 record with a 5-3 record against Big10 opponents.
I am confident he will advance to NCAAs and am guessing he can make the podium even way underweight.
It all depends on whether he can use his quickness effectively.
The coaches agreed on this, how can this possibly be? Were the coaches votes based on criteria, where Carl’s voted carried an 83% allocation?Coaches have no one to blame but themselves. Carl said the coaches voted for this system.
How idiotic. Should have been a committee that STARTED with a matrix. Unbelievable.

Still better than other options. No shirt to burn. Given the situation, only downside I see is possible injury at the higher weight. He couldn’t AA last year one weight up, a weight he was at almost all year. He got stuck by a non AA in the consos. His chances of being an AA at 197 are almost nil.
ehhhhhh, it kind of is when you see Haines, who also got railroaded, on the #2 line.3 of those 4: Peterson, Ferrari and Kueter didn't wrestle enough matches. that's controllable. (ferrari and Kueter weren't even close (only 66% of the way there)). no one at 157 wrestled enough matches.
and i have no idea what you're talking about in regards to kennedy. he's the 3. argument for the 2. that's not close to being 'railroaded'
Supposedly the coaches came up with the formula, and we should trust "common sense"??!! Analytics not the problem per se, perhaps # basket weaving classes > # math classes while the coaches were in college?? Next time just let @Wrestleknownothing write the damn formula and the Cesspool can do his math proofing in advance. Alot of math whizzes here.Analytics should be a tool - hopefully some degree of common sense can be factored in. 174 should be the case for that all by itself.
Just curious does injury play a role in some of this like I know not everytime someone dosent wrestle means there hurt or can't wrestle. like Cannon for instance sounds like he was really really hurt do they weigh that in or is all about getting enough to allocate if that makes sense?3 of those 4: Peterson, Ferrari and Kueter didn't wrestle enough matches. that's controllable. The criteria is a complete **** s**w. The criteria used at NCAA’s has enough variation so a guy who doesn’t have a RPI ranking still gets a fair seed.3 of those 4: Peterson, Ferrari and Kueter didn't wrestle enough matches. that's controllable. If the coaches were able to see this before it was released, how many of them are thinking, this didn’t come out right?Supposedly the coaches came up with the formula, and we should trust "common sense"??!! Iowa wrestling is now Nebraska football. These seeds are historically bad, and embarrassing.
Being out with an injury is treated the same as ducking. It doesn’t get factored in, except that it prevents a wrestler from having enough matches to have an RPI score. A wrestler needs 15 matches to have an RPI.Just curious does injury play a role in some of this like I know not everytime someone dosent wrestle means there hurt or can't wrestle. like Cannon for instance sounds like he was really really hurt do they weigh that in or is all about getting enough to allocate if that makes sense.

Iowa is toast. No way they place in the top 5. 0 champs, 1 finalist, depression.
Yes, and this is on the coaches that allow ducking.Being out with an injury is treated the same as ducking. It doesn’t get factored in, except that it prevents a wrestler from having enough matches to have an RPI score. A wrestler needs 15 matches to have an RPI.
Many wrestlers who didn’t have an RPI for the BT tournament, will have an RPI for NCAA’s.
Iowa will need to clean up on the consi side of the brackets.I’m far from an optimist but 6th isn’t particularly likely. I hope I’m not wrong.
how do you figure? Maybe Angelo but he didnt wrestle enough. Cali got better then he deserved, BK got what he deserved. Maybe you're just joking but the only people who should be embarrassed are the ones who support the Brands and have allowed this to happen. All the 100% Brands haters should be ashamed. The comments on here about our wrestlers receiving the seeds they have, is deserved, is comical at best. Peterson, Kennedy, Ferrari and Keuter are getting completely railroaded.
Nebraska is willing to fire coaches to get better.... Iowa rides that **** outIowa wrestling is now Nebraska football.
Maybe if teams went to a few tournaments during the year, this would not be a problem. I do not understand how guys are so prone to getting hurt these days that they do not want to take a chance and go to a tourney or two.3 of those 4: Peterson, Ferrari and Kueter didn't wrestle enough matches. that's controllable. (ferrari and Kueter weren't even close (only 66% of the way there)). no one at 157 wrestled enough matches.

same path as the 1 seed if it standsFerrari #2 nationally, #8 seed in the conference tournament.![]()
talking about Purdue? What is the string of years of having a B10 Finalist? With these seeds, that is a real possibility, not having a Finalist...at B10s.
Yeah, in retrospect maybe taking off an entire month between isu and WI wasn't the best decision.here's the problem in Angelo's case...
it wasn't simply that he got hurt.
from National Duals (11/16) until he got hurt was almost nine weeks. within that nine weeks, he wrestled just five bouts.
I agree, ducking should be punished somehow, but legitimate injuries should not hurt that much, unless they're still injured, which the algorithm has no way of knowing. Have you ever wrestled with a torn ACL, torn hamstring, high ankle sprain, or torn labrum? I have, a couple of those, and it's not fun. Granted, sitting isn't going to heal most of those during the season, but it can stop them from getting worse, and from cumulative wear. Look at McD. Early in the season, he was able to compensate, but match after match, it wore him down, and he just couldn't cope by the NCAA Tournament. There's no way to know if they are legitimate injuries, but I doubt Cannon or Angelo were sitting to duck or save seeds.Unfortunately yes but I love seeing guys who sit punished. Needs to be cleaned up in like Haines case cause everyone sat vs him. But I want to see big regular season matches.
It's not controllable if you're injured. Angelo didn't take matches off to duck anyone. It's not his fault Tom pulled that ridiculous stunt (that accomplished nothing) at the SS. Kennedy should be the #2, but more importantly, he shouldn't have to wrestle Haines until the Finals. 2 vs. 3 is inconsiquential, but when #1 is in #2 spot, it's huge. I think you're right about the 174 bracket changing, and I hope you are.3 of those 4: Peterson, Ferrari and Kueter didn't wrestle enough matches. that's controllable. (ferrari and Kueter weren't even close (only 66% of the way there)). no one at 157 wrestled enough matches.

#1 should never wrestle #2 in Quarters. Whoever loses gets screwed in NCAA seeding from where they should besame path as the 1 seed if it stands
talking about Purdue?
Iowa has always taken three weeks off at semester break. This year that was exacerbated by the stupid SS stunt. Tell me who he ducked, or what available matches he skipped during that nine weeks. I'm sure the SS was not his choice to sit.here's the problem in Angelo's case...

Not really because Levi will be the 1 seed on Saturday.PK sat vs Haines for some reason. Since PK and others sat vs Haines, Haines' opponents' scores in the algorithim was low enough that Minto passed him for seed.
So ducking Haines for a better NCAA seed cost PK at least one placement spot at BIGs as he isn't making the finals with Haines in his half which might cost him in NCAA seeding.
Ferrari got 1000% what he deserved im sick of seeing guys skip.. im okay with the precedent that sitting out getting punished.
is the guy who does the excel bracket still here? Always fun filling that out
Iowa will need to clean up on the consi side of the brackets.
That's gonna change Minto is up 11 points . Caliendo and blaze will change that's also within 15PK sat vs Haines for some reason. Since PK and others sat vs Haines, Haines' opponents' scores in the algorithim was low enough that Minto passed him for seed.

I don't think Iowa falls to sixth either, however bonus points will not come in bunches from the front side. And the other teams just have to show up?
