Not sure. I do not pay much attention until it gets closer to the bracket seedlings but my understanding is if they finish first and second overall they both qualify automatically. If the runner up of that class does not finish second they must qualify at large based on their Max Prep ranking. Check me on that but this is how I remember it being explained.
