That is a possibility. But the fact that they all were sub par in the OOC forced us to be flawless against everyone 5-11 in the standings.

the only difference between us and Nova are the following:
- not as many stumbles vs 5-11 as we had
- they beat us twice head to head
- their offense is better so their metrics don’t take a hit from that perspective.

but if they had split with us and lost another game or to a bottom feeder, they would be in dangerous bubble territory.

the BE did not do itself any favors for acquiring multiple bids this year
You’re funny. The only difference. That’s usually 1 thing. You listed 3. Here’s a 4th How about the fact nova played a real out of conference schedule. BYU, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pitt. As opposed to us NC State, USC, RU, KSU. That matters in comparing us. 3 top 35 net teams in the OOC vs 1 in the top 50.

they are not a very good team but they’re much, much better than we are.

The difference between Villanova and Seton Hall is great this season. I think Left Coast just wanted to get yet another dig in at Willard.

Every team needs to play a tougher OTC schedule and win a lot more of those games. It’s as plain as dogs balls.

The stat is also misleading because we’ve had some truly awful teams the past few years that were way outside the top 100, whether that be us, Gtown or Depaul.

The problem this year isn’t the top, nor is it one team at the bottom that’s going to win 1 or 2 games in the league. The problem is the middle isn’t anywhere close as strong to what it’s been.

Yes, but the 4-6 in the Big East that year were ions better than the 4-6 this year. In fact they are much closer to Nova if not better than or just as good as Nova.
This is how I see it. Whether the bottom is better or worse the middle teams have to decisively beat the bottom in any year and it hasn’t happened.

Creighton has been a mess. Providence and Georgetown became bottom teams despite the talent and money, Seton Hall has fared the best but can’t put away the bottom teams and have 3 losses against them, 2 at home by double-digits.

Hold up. Yes Villanova is better, but the only game above that’s helped them is the win against Wisconsin.

They got destroyed by Michigan, so what’s the point with that? They lost by 5 to BYU, but never led that game and they closed the gap at the end. So maybe the metrics liked the close loss, I don’t know exactly how that works vs. crushing a much more inferior team.

Pitt sucks.

NC State is a good quality win still for SHU. USC has been not a good loss.

So while Villanova is certainly better than SHU, their out of conference slate isn’t some stacked scheduling job.

Watch how the metrics work. Our win over Georgetown we lost 2 points in NET. We will probably lose to UConn and our NET might go up. The teams you play win or lose impact your metrics. Scheduling tough helps. You still need to pile up the wins which nova did in conference but they also have a much tougher strength of schedule

We could've actually been more in if we beat trash like Depaul even ONCE. They have to end season on high note hopefully even if we don't make tournament or hopefully we can get in, but we have to end the season with one ranked win PLEASE and not make BE final. Weak bubble could mean just getting to BE final maybe semis.

The two things UConn does that helps our style are turnovers and fouling. I don’t think the matchup is as far fetched for us to do the unthinkable but we’re going to have to finally shoot well from 3.

Najais girth i think matches tarris reed better than steph. tarris isnt popping out to the 3 pt line either. Id rather have najai take that assignment.
